Cup holder beauty ring replacement?

I know this is an old subject and been kicked around awhile. That said, does, or has anyone had any luck finding the BLACK replacement rings and cup holder? Thought I might have a good lead on it, especially after talking to the rep at yamahaparts. He felt positive that what I ordered would be black, but.... no! Help!!

Why are those things not permanently set and glued in place by the factory? Is there a need to access something behind them?

The rings are simply a "dress" piece to cover the screws that hold the cup holders to the deck. All of the stainless replacements I've seen on Amazon are the entire cup holder that require silicone/sealant to keep them in place. They may also give you access for mods, depending on the location.

I just contacted ITC directly, they checked with their wharehouse and they still have some in stock, they are shipping a few Black Chrome ones out to me as we speak (note: they come with the cupholder & trim bezels ~$6 each + shipping.)

I had taken a picture of the label on the bottom of mine when I had it removed for a repair. It seemed like a unique cup holder so I thought that info might come in handy.

That is a straight up win right there! Not sure if they'll fit, but that's the only place I've EVER seen that has ring-mount stainless cup holders! They also have the typical type that I've seen, with adhesive/tape for mounting. If they fit, you should see if you can get a commission, because I'll replace all of mine with the stainless.

That link is for the cup holder with the SS rings, the SS rings are available without buying the cup holder from any of the online yamaha parts sites for ~$5. If you specifically need the BLACK CHROME rings (not available anylonger from Yamaha) you will need to contact ITC marine directy. The cup holder and BLACK CHROME rings come as a set from ITC and run about $6 each.

UPDATE --- my package from ITC arrived......and the cup holders they sent came with the black PLASTIC trim rings, not the BLACK CHROME metal rings which came with the boat, which I spoke to the rep about when ordering them. I contacted them today, great communication and they indicated the problem with the order was on there side, refunded my $ ...checked again for the BLACK CHROME ones and determined sorry "the black chrome option was discontinued in 2016"...so sad.

Thank you for posting this! I found my ring for my cup holder from Yamaha's part's website. I have a 2017 SX195 part #F2J-U7845-00-00.

Bumping this because I read a few different threads since I needed a new chrome ring for my 2018 242. Can confirm the F2J-U7845 part is correct.
