Go put gas in that thing and run it! You’ve got a rocket sitting there on the trailer! With a full tank of fuel your boat has a power to weight ratio of 1:10.41, or one horsepower to each 10.41 pounds, in comparison a Porsche turbo targa has a power to weight ratio of 1:13. Don’t treat that thing like a slip cruiser, go drive it and have fun.
Finally got the chance to finish up my rear shade. I will probably increase the size a little with a bigger tarp. I have length left in the support polls for that.
So, finally got a chance to play with the stock radio. Absolutely zero bass! And no EQ or any way to adjust the sound?? That seems weird to me, am I missing something here? I guess maybe I just found out why everyone is replacing the factory Yamaha sound system. Sounds like a kid beating on a tin can....
So. To drag us back to page 2 on this thread. My Simrad is not pausing itself due to being turned on while boat not in the water.
I use downscan when fishing a spot and echosounder when traveling. After our 3rd or 4th stop today when I switched back to echosounder it was paused and I had no depth reading. Unchecking “paused” fixed it. Soooo sure looks like Simrad issue.
Cheers
Sounds like a Simrad issue, but it may be an error in the programming that is *trying* to turn it off before it burns out. Maybe in switching over something makes it think it is out of water...
Another question for the ones following this thread. I just noticed in my owners manual that they make no mention of warming up the engines before checking the oil. That seems weird to me. Is that normal for the 1.8 SC motors?

I check it cold before going out, haven’t seen anything in the owners manual to contradict that. I do wish we had oil temp gauges to see when engines are warmed up. I usually idle out from dock for 10 minutes before taking off. 7000 RPM on cold engines just doesn’t seem like a good idea. But without knowing oil temp it’s guessing

Check them cold after it has been sitting level. Then check them when the motors are hot and you have let them drain down for 5 mins, then recheck at 10 mins just to see if any more oil drained down.
That’s your oil pan and dipstick set up, the oil pick up is in the center part of the covered pan and the oil pump is on the front of the engine, near as I can tell the dipstick goes right down into that part of the pan that’s covered?
