I find the carpet too hot

Deckadence is my favorite. Its spendy if you buy it from them. It's really just and extruded vinyl loop mat aka "Miners Moss". Gets used on gold rig sluice boxes to catch the gold. You van find lots of places to but it cheap online in sheets and then just cut and seam it. It stays cool. You can pressure wash it to clean it. Feels super good on the feet.

The pic of the light gray has that crease because it was stored folded rather rolled

I could not tolerate the heat from just the floor. I literally burned my feet. I’m guessing you guys that recommend the bare floor must either be wearing shoes or the floor is wet. Not debating anyone. Just curious why I can’t tolerate it and others see it as perfect.

I thought you guys from Kentucky were tough...The coolest surface you can get is a white surface as it reflects radiant heat. Anything darker than white will absorb radiant heat in varying degrees depending on how dark it is. You may find river shoes a solution for your tender feet. Amazon has them for under 12 bucks.

We don’t wear shoes in KY, but even then, that white floor is too hot! Ha!

No shoes needed, the white fiberglass never ever gets hot. Like I said, the week we were in Florida (July 4th) it was 95-100 every day. Sun beating down on the deck, never beyond what I’d call “warm”. In fact, the white gelcoat on the gunwale caps stayed cooler than the Marine Mat on the anchor locker door and the lounge tops right next to it.

Seadeck looks great and although I would like to do it, it's down lower on the list. So I am doing the next best thing I could think of. I got a $6 Aqua Zooka and when the carpets get hot, I shoot some water on them for immediate cooling. In my experience as long as the carpet is a wet, no hot foot.

Amazon.com : AQUA ZOOKA 18", Pistol Grip : Sports & Outdoors

Mine didn’t come with carpet. Never felt I needed anything on the floor. It’s non skid, doesn’t get too slick even in salt water. It’s never hot, even in 99 degree weather in Florida. If I get sand/dirt/spilled beer on the floor, I use the jet wash and wash it out the scupper. I generally start the day with a scrubbed clean floor, at the end of the day the Marine Mat helm pad is ALWAYS the dirtiest spot on the floor. If the fuel tank hatch wasn’t under there I’d probably remove that one, instead I’m thinking of buying the extra thick Seadek one just to see if it helps the noise.
Agreed! I go naked too. Super easy to clean up. The only reason I would consider Sea Deck would be to dampen the noise, but so far I haven't been annoyed enough to spend the $$$.

Naked floor and feet. Never had a hot floor (even on 100 degree days) Might I suggest some 60 grit to the bottoms of those tender little tootsies to build up some callouses and toughen them up...... :winkingthumbsup"

Ha! I hear ya, but I know it’s hot and just want to give a different perspective, especially for those who take their pets. I was cleaning my boat and had the carpets out. The boat was in the sun for a good bit. I took my shoes off and stepped on the bare surface and I’m not kidding you, I burned my feet and had to jump on the cushions which were also hot. Ha! Maybe it was a fluke thing but that was my experience from which I’m referring to. Am willing to give it a try again though based on what I’m reading.

I am just bustin' your chops. I'm sure there is a temp difference when on the water and sitting in the driveway/parking lot. On the water you've got air flow and occasional water splash/drips to cool it down some. Sitting stagnant in the sun=no bueno fun-o.....

You have a good point about the circumstances. Makes sense. I’ll give it a shot.

I'm interested to know what's different or what they changed for the decking of these different models and years. The whole reason I posted this was that my experience was exactly the same as yours, only WITH carpet! I actually had the deck cool down with a bit of time after removing the front carpet just to test it out. My 2019 AR has a pebbled texture, and the gel coat is clearly not as glossy a finish anywhere it's textured, but all the glossy gel coat areas are a bit warmer. Maybe something like that is why there's the difference in experiences and opinions?

I wish I had my temp gun around to see/show the difference.

Here is the pattern on my 2012. The entire floor is like this.

and black and yellow (so I can pretend it’s a Dewalt).

:D:winkingthumbsup"

That's funny right there, I don't care who y'are!

I've got a temp gun, just not on vacation with me, and the neighbor hasn't bought one for me to borrow! Lol

@sunbyrned I have the same look to my deck, I wish I could figure out what makes it so different. Really got me thinking about it.

I’m thinking @bolivas has it right about the circumstances regarding the bare floor. I’m willing to give it a try out on the water. What I don’t get is why people are giving this KY boy a hard time for getting my feet burned on the bare floor and nobody has said anything about you thinking the carpet is too hot. Ha!

@sunbyrned Nothing but love for ya there "Lewville"! @drewkaree has black/charcoal carpet (matches the drapes ?) which soaks in the heat more. My old boat had blue carpet and it too would get rather warm. I thought about ripping out the carpet, but it was bare marine plywood beneath and wasn't worth the $$ to have gel coated (one more excuse to buy a new boat). Let us know how it goes out on the water.

It’s all good fun. Nothing taken personally. I’m glad the subject came up so I can give this another try.
