I changed it...as Bruce says...it is just a dislike and that is what it is for....i dislike that forecast. Sorry to fire you up. Now I'm optimistic....whick I am...but still dislike that forecast!

Well let's hope the weather fizzles out. Based on Bruce's post seems like a crapshoot so hopefully this is nothing but some winds for a day or so. Bring the surf boards just in case :D

I saw the prediction of a 50% chance of a tropical storm forming and moving into the Caribbean. I believe the area of concern is the red X that is near Africa and that the potential risk to us is that it may grow and move our direction. Looking at the 10 day forecast for Puerto Rico I do not see any major storms. I am uncertain if this is anything to be concerned about.

As for the crossing forecast, this is the first offshore forecast that I have been able to obtain. My hope is that we will have less than 2' seas and less than 10 mph wind for the crossing. Currently the wind is higher than I would like. The forecast in 2015 was for 1.8' seas but the wind was pushing larger waves on top of those forecast. If we get the 1.8' seas as forecast it should be a bumpy but safe crossing.

Not sure if you guys ever used windy.com - you can select from three different weather models for the forecasts. Two NOAA weather models and a Euro ECMWF model. Even on formation of the tropical depression, all models currently place it traveling into mid Atlantic traveling north. Feeling optimistic! There are also two models for sea conditions looking decent.

Speaking of surfing has anyone done any tubing or water sports while there? I imagine a tube would consume too much space and extra weight to justify bringing on the trip but man it would be cool water skiing or surfing over such clear and turquoise water!! Obviously wouldn't be the ideal water conditions for it but man it would be something I'd never forget. My luck I'd have a shark instead of a dolphin chasing me though :D :D

Man I'm so jealous of you all.... I'm trying to get the wife to follow these posts and convince her to say yes for our GA country asses to go next time...( I know she would love it)

Cant wait to see the pix and videos!!! safe travels y'all..:winkingthumbsup"

Maybe this will put some of you in the Bahamas mood here is my video of our Abaco trip we just returned from.

Should I start early for Ft Lauderdale and be there Thursday just in case ?

There is no practical way to move the trip forward with such a large group. I have yet to see any scary forecast.

Those tropical waves guys this time of the year are on rapid fire... I watched probably 200 of them last season, and only 4 materialized into something and only 1 hit our area. Its a possibility, but dont let it ruin ur day ;)

Bimini Sands opened a new ocean front pavilion with seating for 75 this weekend. They also have shaded seating for 75 around the pool.

I started a conversation about where to park your trucks and trailers. Please help me keep the parking lot secret. I would not want anyone to swoop in and take our parking.

I was just inspecting my boat trailer tires, hum they are pretty warn. I'm getting new tires this week before leaving

I just did all new tires including a spare, decided to check bearings and they ended up being a mess. Replaced those too. These trailers are not greatest

Better now than on the road. I wish everyone who is driving safe travels. Some of us lucked out and only have a 3 or 4 hour drive living here in FL. Anyone else basic tools with them? I got a good size set with essential things but I plan on bringing
