JetBoaters.net Bimini Fling July 10th to 15th 2017

If I lived in FL that forecast would cause me to dig into the vacation time bank...
I saw that @Valerie was packing early. Anyone else prepping early? Oil and filter changed, fresh plugs, lube cables, fluid film everywhere yesterday. Grease trailer bearings today and skis should be ready for the journey south.

Cmon I will call on sick

The Sands just added insult to injury by posting this this morning IMG_4258.PNG

Skis seemed to dang near stop for almost an hour?

Looks like @2nazt has made it. It took them 3 hours which isn't a bad time. I'll be curious to hear what the conditions where and why they didn't make a little better time.

I believe it was a group of center consoles. They may not be quite as fast as we are or may have done some fishing.

Personally I would be excited about three hours.

Looks like it took the skis over 4 hours

We made it. Here is the text I sent Bruce

We had solid 4-6' with 8' mixed in the steam probably 5 seconds. It was rough. Started off nice and got really bad. I lost sight of the 34' buddy boat in between waves. So all considered we made great time. Even at Bimini it was a solid 4' on the final approach maybe 6-7 seconds.
They were coming from the side also so getting hit from the side and surfing fwd it was a lot of paying attention to detail

Glad you made it brother, now enjoy yourselves!

Have fun @2nazt , glad you made it.
What was your crossing time ?
I hope you only lost sight of your buddy boat temporarily in between waves...

Enjoy !

@2nazt that sounds pretty rough, glad you made it.
I guess all those costal forecasts can only go so far.

Sounds like you had a good time this morning. I hope you enjoy dealing with Bimini now since the fun is over.

That kinda crossing is not for the faint of heart Glad you made it safely!
Have a great week!

Yes we only lost sight in between waves. Climbing waves we would slow down then surf the front of them. It was exciting. My wife didn't feel a thing on the bean bag and neither if else ever felt in danger. I think the bean bag on a jet boat for a few people would be awesome and make families happy!

I've got the wedge bean bags on my FSH now (thanks to someone who mentioned them on here). Holy cow those things are awesome!
