Need a new fuel tank!

Is the leak in a area on the tank that can be sealed/repaired form the inside as well? I think it's worth a try. Make sure that the tank is free from fuel an fumes.

Agreed. Make sure you clean the tank really well first to ensure no sudden flames or ignition.

I've been a fan of repair since the beginning. That hole is cake to patch, if it were a crack I would advise against it.

what about duct tape, not just one strip but maybe two to make it really seal good,

joking aside, I'm sorry you're having to go thru this and can't believe it's dragging on,

I'm a fan of trying to fix it also, what can it hurt, you've got time to wait anyways,

what are the measurements on the tank maybe we can find an aftermarket that will be close enough to get you working?

Just wanted to let you all know that Moeller has made me a brand new tank! They had to make a few test tanks since the mold hadn't been used in 8 years! It will be delivered TODAY to the dealer of which I ordered it through.

Joe from Lake Springfield Marina in Springfield, IL has been a gem! He was so quick to respond to me and went the extra mile to push the process along so I could get the Muther Tucker back on the water ASAP.

Meanwhile, I cleaned the hell out of the interior, pulled all the snaps out of the floor, filled holes with 3m 5200 sealer and am ready to lay my Sea Dek as soon as the tank is replaced!

I can't wait to see some of you at the Shelbyville gathering and thank you for your support and thank you to everyone on this thread for all of your advice with this issue. I will post photos of the repair shortly.

Good News! Glad to hear you are moving forward.....take lots of pictures, we like pictures.

It's a sad day. I went to eagerly pick up my tank today. Unfortunately, when they carried it out I took one look at it and knew it was the wrong tank. Joe misread the part number on the tag I emailed him and ordered the wrong tank. I almost cried.

He called Moeller and discovered that they no longer make the tool to manufacture the tank with the correct number therefor there is no way to make the tank. I am beside myself. Joe tried to rectify the situation by offering to repair the compromise and pressure test the tank since it is such a small crack.

Prior to hearing back from Joe I called Moeller myself. Later I received a call back from them and they confirmed that the tank couldn't be made, but they could take my measurements and get me a tank close to what I already have. I asked them about a tank repair and if that was an option. They said a repair is not an option on these poly fiber tanks. A repair would only be temporary. He recommended I do not attempt to repair the tank.

Renee is a sad girl.
