Had a small cleanout issue yesterday, 6 inch piece of coated wire sucked up from the lake. Got it out and just hung out closer to the launch the rest of the afternoon but got to enjoy this on the way in.
Raft Off, Lake St. Clair. Estimated 4,000 boats. It looked like a lot more, it stretched for to 4 miles in the bay. Crazy. We didn't hook up or go in the lanes, just cruised on the outside to see it for the first time. They sure as hell tore the lake up getting there today. Never seen anything like it. Too many people for me, plus not a lot of social distancing, a lot of Sherriff's, DNR, USCG, Dive Team, Helicopters and Border Patrol making sure everyone was being cool.
Not on my boat, a rental, two actually for my son and I. Kayaking out of Guernville (Napa Area), CA.
It was windy so there was a lot more paddling and a lot less drifting than I expected but had great time experiencing something new with my boy. Later he drove (while I slept for the most part) the convertible down Pacific Coast Highway on the way home. Awesome way to end the Summer.
