Love your crew Dr! We’re gonna kill next summer if we can get you off the salt. Tell your girls to check out my Yamaha FZS. They’re gonna never give it back.
November 9 sail on Lake Champlain. Maiden voyage on the 14' 1976 Oday Javelin. First real sail on the only boat we did not use this year. Trying out the new battened mainsail that my wife made on her SailRite sewing machine. It performed flawlessly. We saw 5+ kts. S.O.G. (speed over ground) on Navionics.
It was a fun time shaking out this boat and so late in the year. Lov'in the weather.
Thinking to herself...Ya! I made that. And I say...Well done.

Nah, the shrivel factor is not that bad yet, it does get your attention at first, while launching. We know how to sail flat enough in 8-10kts. wind without tipping over the boat. Funny, she does/did have a punk streak in her from way back, growing up in NYC. That boat was more fun than I expected. It was all journey. Our only destination was learning how this boat handles...and the ramp at the end.
Tell her "gabba gabba hey" from this dude still in the pit (now with sons 1&2)
Last show as a fam before the 19 we saw Surfbort in brooklyn 'll risk it and post Hideaway
We took a trip up Hackensack River, NJ, today. Wow. Pretty awesome things to see, we started in the Arthur Kill which is a busy channel.
Very narrow, too, at low tide if not paying attention to your chart plotter you can be in 2ft of water in an instant, crazy.
Fortunately, I have a good navigator:
These guys pushed this ship in against pretty strong current that appeared to be turning it sideways in the channel...
These guys were rushing to help
Went out to dinner last night (11/14) and ate at AJs on the River in Gibsonton FL; south of Tampa. Friends met us there and had a great time. Sunset was killer. The picture is exactly what we saw (colors are perfect); beautiful. This is looking back at Saint Petersburg.
