One picture of your last outing.

Was off yesterday and weather was going to warm up as the day progressed. Took a chance and went to the lake. Started out at 38 degrees and warmed up steadily to 68.
My second time out. The boat/trailer trailered perfectly without rumble or side swiping on the new Goodyeat Endurance tires. The boat handled ALOT better with the COBRA Steering package. Still in "break-in" period per dealer so most running under 5000 rpm. I was able to load boat onto trailer first try, woo-hooo.
my biggest problem is approaching the dock area. did great but overshot all the way to almost the ramp concrete. backed out and tried again. Gezzz, and again.
Anyways, practice makes perfect. So here are some shots;

I veried my speeds trying to break in the engine. Now, at what RPM does this supercharger kick in? anyone know? At one point i raised the rpms up to about 6500 and boy did the boat start to fly across the water. Anyways, my opinion is this boat is not under powered and will like the high rpms its going to get.

after drying it out and cleaning it, covered back up and headed back to storage unit. Did stop to fuel up, this time went with the 91 octane. Only have three stations with pure gasoline and all out of the way and in daily heavy traffic, too risky.

Its the best during the week during off season...thats what i did just kept practicing around empty docks..you'll be a pro in no time!

What are you doing to winterize? Don't you just blow the water out of the engine the best you can and put the batteries on a charger and call it good? The beauty of a Yamaha jet is that they're self draining. You're in Georgia, it has similar weather to Texas, it ain't that cold.
I change the oil, spark plugs, add stabil to fuel and run through engine. Acid wash hull, repair any gelcoat or fiberglass issues. Maintenance is certainly cheaper than other marine engines.
I’ll admit I’m overly cautious when it comes to cold weather. I bought the engine heater a few years back when boat was in water till almost January. We had a few nights of 20 degree temps. Yet lake water remained above freezing so not likely to damage engine.

The marina does not allow the use of engine heaters unless the boat has shore power. I believe it’s a Army Corps of Engineers regulation. So I do not keep boat at dock for winter. Otherwise , with mild temps during the winter months here would be ideal. Till then I’ll have to consider a lift.

Supercharger? Not on a 19' FSH with a TR-1 engine. AR195 yes.

Edit: I stand corrected. 1.8's in the 19'ers. Should have done my homework BEFORE posting. My appology @robby76 I can't keep up with all the options. Not how I wanted to start off my 60th birthday.

Thank you @J-RAD , Those are all on my bucket list. :winkingthumbsup"

This morning started out at 38 degrees and warmed up to 75, Yes went back out to the lake. I figured out the docks are not long enough as i back down the ramp when the boat comes off the trailer it is already about to pass the last tie down post. Next visit will do what i saw at the ramp, that is this gentleman backed his trailer w/boat to the end of last post then with dock line tied to his truck he pulled out of ramp slowly bringing his boat behind keeping it within his trailer guides. Stopped, got out on dry ground, took the line from his truck and walked up the dock and tied off between both posts. that was great,
After todays outing I'm at 8.3 hours into my Dealer imposed 10 hour engine break in period of under 5000rpm (my apologies but have been hitting 6500 on occasions). Did venture around places i hadn't been.

Thank you guys for the birthday messages both public and private. I think 60 has made me stop and think more, on the rest to come. I used to wonder what this spot in time would look like when I was 30 and 40. Well I made it and it was not always pretty. I do feel fortunate to be with the same partner for nearly 30 years. As some of you may have deduced from some of my posts over the last 4.5 years, I most certainly married up. It was not all "smooth sailing" over the years, but we held on and made it. Who knows what is ahead, but warmer Winter climes are certainly on the horizon. Who knows, maybe liveaboards on a 40'+ catamaran in Florida for the Winter and a 40'+ monohull on Lake Champlain for the Summer. Just daydreaming for now. Again thanks for putting up with me and our sailboats. Keeping to the thread...Once again, our last outing a month ago, seems so much longer than that.

Fair Winds

I'm soooo envious!

On that other note, here is my son; at 26 he maybe a bit old for her, but hey, figured it's worth a shot!

Full disclosure: he's not the greatest surfer, yet, but has potential.
