They will likely tell you it's an "operator's error" which is utter nonsense.

You can ask them "which operator?" and remind them these towers got put up and folded down numerous times before you took possession of your new boat, for example during assembly/shipment/dealer prep. There is no way to tell if the threads were defective from factory, or cross threaded as a result of an operator error or as a result of a partial pull out followed by shaking/vibration when riding in the water. Or - a combination of all three, for that matter. It is a bad lock design.

BTW. I will be finding out, first hand, what do Missouri courts think of that, in a couple of weeks.

In the meantime, before there is a recall of this flawed locking mechanism, I would keep a really close eye on this bolt. Believe me, you do not want the thing to fall on you, and it happens quickly.
I posted one way that this locking mechanism can be secured, which I believe is foolproof albeit not perfect.

Again - sorry for the thread hijack! but I feel I needed to say something... in case you were unaware.

I just noticed that space also good catch.

Had a blast this weekend with my girls going to the local beaches and had some some good food at a few local restaurants. And the last picture was from tonight after a couple hours boat cleaning on the new lift. The boat loves its new home high and dry. It’s spotless inside and out. Over coming days it will get a nice wax job. So nice having it in the backyard now!
Chicks looked empty that's unusual .My cuz Brian worked there a couple years ago on the dock. We need to meet up one weekend.

For sure. Agree I was shocked also how slow it was!

What brand of boat is that @Markk ? What lake? You're in a big slip with a lot of deck space. Where's your kitchen and deck furniture?
I met up with a buddy of mine at Lake Lewisville. He’s sporting a 60’ SeaRay.

A few pictures from our weekend at lake George. After getting to use a boat house... I am super envious of those that have one..... except those that have a shallow channel with a ton of sea grass. Pretty sure I mowed the whole canal with the jet boat lol.

Ha, I recognized that spot immediately. I keep my 242 just to your left at North Lake Marina. Interestingly, our dog does the same thing in the bow at that same spot.

Took the girls tubing this morning then we broke for the beach for lunch then my sweet girl and I rode together while Mom drove. Saw Pershing 74 out and another massive boat on a lift that always amazes me it can hold this boat. Then dinner on the boat tonight. A perfect sunny summer day! Tomorrow the rain rolls in mid day so have to get some tubing in early.

Had an interesting day but didn’t let it dampen the rest of our lake day... Started tubing, then big hiccup that led to limping towards the ramp on one engine and anchoring there the rest of the day...
