One picture of your last outing.

All I have is unprocessed video, After I took the pics I posted already I and everyone else put our phones in the vans we rode to the water in. The lead guide really blew It when he told us to leave everything behind which resulted in us having no food or drinks and the event turning into more of a survival/ endurance rafting trip instead of a relaxing one. The group I ended up with mistakenly thought a meal was included, it wasn’t. The lead guide invited us to drink out of a gallon jug we were all expected to share from, no cups. As soon as one person said they were hungry rafting meant rowing to get to the end, our cars and food faster. Not many people swam and we didn’t take many breaks nor were many open to water fights.

I left home at 1030, We met at 130, were in the water by 2:30 out by 7 and parting ways by 730. After refueling the Vette and stopping for dinner I was home at 1030.

Was it worth it?
Yes, if you are strong enough.

Correction: did I say I had a great time? Scratch that, I had an AWESOME time!

Would I do it again?
In a heart beat knowing that I could just as easily be put into a raft with a bunch of ugly A-holes but next time I’ll bring my son up and hit some class iv rapids.

Closing note, I will contact the rafting company to see if they can put me in touch with the owner of the plastic surgery center, the video I took would be more meaningful for him and his crew than it is for me. Other than overnight rafting trips this is the most expensive rafting I’ve done at just under $100 per person but i did nothing more than show up, best/easiest boating I’ve done in a long time.

Yesterday afternoon/evening ended up being pretty nice after a crummy day, so decided to put her back in the slip (originally was the plan for Sunday). Grabbed dinner on the way, and ended up coming in a lot later than expected.

Naturally, the cold front showed up literally about 5 minutes out from the Marina. Nothing like 20MPH winds blowing you away from a slip that I back into. Took a few attempts, ha.

Sadly, he's way better on the paddleboard than I am.

Took a break from the lakes and spent the afternoon on the Ohio River. Mostly anchored in a small man made cove near Prospect, KY. Cruised down and took thus pic of the Louisville, KY skyline before putting it back on the trailer and heading home.

First this happened.

Then on the way home, this happened.

(note to self: next time make sure you have the right size lug wrench in the truck)
(2nd note to self: look up that thread where someone wrote up all that is wrong with these stock trailer tires and outline replacements.

The trailer is two months old as of July 3rd!

I usually stop at the coast guard station. Gotta work up the nerve to go over to shack
It was a little rough crossing the inlet but it wasn’t to bad.

Wife and 2 youngest on the tube, yesterday.

This was right before we changed riders and subsequently sucked up our first rope.

I wish I had a pic of the wife with her butt in the air and arm down the tube untangling the rope, but was pretty sure I’d get in trouble.

Anyway, 30 minutes of wrestling it and she got it and we were on our way again.

I was ready to cut it 5 minutes in after I realized there was no way my arm/hand was agile/small enough to reach the right spots for untangling.

She saved the day! And, the $75 4 man tow rope. :)

She now understands why I’m always asking about the rope, and I think will help me be more vigilant.

Don't forget to collect your badge! A real rite of passage.

I wish a simple setup like this would work on the 24' boats. I would love to wakesurf - especially since I am still sore from Wakeboarding last week but I just can't justify adding hundreds of pounds of ballast and taking up all my usable storage space.

If you still want your storage space you can put the bags on top of the seat and swim deck. The new custom bags for the 24' boats are working really good. Add another 800+ bag along your bench seat on the surf side and get a Wake wedge and you would have a nice wave. The inconvenience is having to manually fill each bag but when you're done for the day you drain them and toss them in your storage compartments. Around 2000 lbs makes a really nice wave but I think you can run less now if you use the new custom swim deck bag.

This was a 242 LS with 2000 lbs, Wake wedge and about 400 lbs human ballast. This was before the new swim deck bag so wouldn't need as much weight as this since the new swim deck bag puts weight in a better spot than a bag on the upper swim deck.

I know the post title says one picture but I figured I would recap last weeks 4th of July trip up to LI Sound with a few days worth:

On our way to Watch Hill RI - came across this heading into the Thames River channel. I was sure to keep our distance :jawdrop:

Then after going through the thickest fog I have ever seen (less than 50' visibility) we made it to Watch Hill -

A few days later we made the 22 mile trip across Long Island Sound to Greenport NY for the day. Here is the Orient Point Lighthouse and "The Gut". Always interesting water dynamics through here to say the least! -

And then rounded out the week with some wakeboarding and tubing on the Niantic River -

Snorkeled an old sunken Schooner that ran aground in 1926 here (between Destin and Pensacola, FL)

I put together a video also.
