Aloha,

I took a guy from BI out on a tour a few weeks ago and he said the same thing. You all have the good fishing and I guess we got the views!

We have some okay views but no protected anchorages like that. Really cannot anchor anywhere. We have dozens of day use mooring balls but they are all at dive locations.

Why can't you anchor?

KBay really is a great place to go but there are a few others. If you have enough line you can anchor off Waikiki and on the West Side like Electric Beach. Just did the over-nighter this past weekend because of the low winds.

Why can't you anchor?
Coral protection and the depth drops of incredibly fast. Also because of the depth and topography there tends to be a large shore break starting at a couple hundred feet off shore. No protection from wind or currents as we don't have the large eroded beaches that Maui and Oahu have. Ours are small aggressive, unprotected beaches.

Reach out if you need anything! Maybe you can force me to take the boat out!!
The last time we were on O'ahu we wanted to get out to the Kaneohe Sandbar, but they only rent boats to military personnel at the OR&EC. We found a small catamaran, but the days they had didn't work.

My son and I headed out early in the morning last week to try some fishing. No luck with fish, but had a great time with my son anyway.

still trying to figure out the fishing here, but we get some on board eventually.

I think they actually named this one for a reason. Mosquitoes and no see ums can get pretty thick in the area. Luckily they weren't too bad this trip.

Sometimes at the right place at the right time and with a camera in hand.
