No actually the majority of the river is minimum wake but there are large portions with no restrictions. Of course passing under the bridges is idle speed. I am not sure how far north it goes before it gets too shallow but you can go all the way to Lowry Park. There is actually a nice little ramp there. It's a beautiful spot to drop in there, cruise the river and head out into the bay. It's about a 35 min ride. We even saw dolphins in the river on this particular day.
Cool, thanks for the info. Its on my list of areas to explore.

lee island. Surf City, NC! I have not been able to actually find Lee Island on any water charts, you can find it on Google Maps. Do you have an actual GPS coordinate for it? I thought I was close, but looking at this picture I think I was not North enough. I’ve heard by many that it is awesome place to anchor. We have been as far as passing the bridge at North Topsail, would love to check it out sometime. Thanks in advance!

Just did some more reading and someone said this was the way to Lee Island. Using my Aqua Map is this right? If so, we did go there and got stuck on a sandbar, not bad, we were able to get off. Here is my screen shot.4F78F8E0-CE87-413B-8E0C-B4BD5A8AD658.png

Damn I didn’t get an email
About this and havn’t been on the site in a min. No that isn’t Lea island. Im Sorry you got stuck. The sandbars are constantly moving and trust NO mapping software.

That’s no Lea island. That’s near figure 8 island, south of Lea island. Very tricky in there. Lea island is the picture I attached.

Hey, thanks, I’ll check that out. I switched over to Navionics and it is way better. Shows depths in more areas.

August 29, 2021 was the last day or boat was afloat for the season. Very disappointed we ended our season so early. Work work and more work made it a rough year. Boating was still the highlight.

It was our weimaraner, Rylee's first time out on the boat. She was nervous but settled in. Of course she loved the beach. She full grown at 55-60lbs now.

Tools my friend and his wife out in early November, day 47 on the water of 2021.… she hadn’t been fishing in ten years and caught the second biggest fish of the season.
