Once you test it out report back. That looks like it could be too high to register good at speed. It also looks like side vue (scan) could be impeded that high on your port side. Would like to know the actual results.

Nice! Looks good! Let us know when you test it out at speed. Wondering cus I have seen where if its not low enough the bubbles can cause interference.

Hope to test it out this weekend. Y'all got me scared now that it's not in an optimal location.

Hopefully the dealer would have thought about this before installing but who knows in today's world it seems no one cares about quality. That's why I like doing things myself most the time! Hoping it works for you!

Took the boat out late yesterday to a lake nearby. Surprised it was as busy as it was, but first time launching and docking the boat went super smooth. wife was a huge help with the fenders and lines (she was in the Coast Guard at a small boat station Took it super slow and spent probably 2 hours of time running the engine at different speeds sub 5k RPM. On the way back I did bump things up a bit.

So as far as the sonar, depths don't seem to register once getting up to speed, above 15mph. But slower speeds it worked good. I'm a real novice at boating and using the sonar system, so I'll need much more time with it.

We anchored out for a short bit and took a swim. Love the swim platform!

Things that frustrate me...dealing with folks at the ramp. Most people are very nice, but as we were coming in, there were numerous boats waiting to dock. I was staying back a good bit, but finally got in to dock, went to grab the truck and somebody had decided they'd launch their boat in front of us with no room for them to get around us and the boat on the opposing dock.

Another thing I noticed as many others have is the bow roller sucks...already put some small scratches/blemishes on the bow. Went ahead and ordered another roller set. So stupid to put such a crappy quality roller. Today we're gonna go out again and I think I'll bring a microfiber cloth to throw on the roller.

Oh, and be careful trying to tow a boat through the drive thru window...our T-top scraped the side of the awning causing a small tear in the canvas.

All in all, a great first experience.

Looks nice! I'm jealous! Sounds like you will have to have them lower your transducer. Congrats again!

What jumps out at me in this pic is that the transducer is not level… this will have a huge effect on how it works. The depth finder of my Solix 10 works perfectly at speed.


What I cannot tell from the pic is whether or not the transducer is in direct contact with the bunk. What I did on my trailer was to move the winch/bow roller tower back enough so that the end of the boat is lined up with the end of the bunk when loaded. It’s super easy to do, just measure the amount necessary to move, mark the trailer with tape. Next time you take the boat you just need a 9/16” combination wrench to move the tower after launching your boat, takes about two minutes.

This will give you plenty or room between the transducer and the bunk.

This is how I adjusted mine.. the blue tape closest to the hinge point is where the tower used to be, I put that there as a reference in case I had to put it back. The tape on the right is where I moved it to.. if memory serves it was 3”.

Awesome! Thanks for the suggestion and help to try and get my transducer working better. We went out again today and had the same result. Slower speeds were fine, but it’s useless anything above 15mph.

Make sure the bottom of the transducer is parallel with the bottom of the boat.. it looks like it is mounted correctly as far as height goes… I had trouble with mine like you are having trouble with yours. The problem was that it was hitting the bunk when I put it on the trailer and it would kick the transducer up at an angle. Once I got that sorted out it works 99.9% of the time at speed. If I make a series of sharp turns or go over some big wakes it will stop reading for a few moments then will reacquire and start working again.

We went out yesterday and another thing I'm kinda noticing is the throttle seems pretty dead(little to no RPM increase) when coming off neutral. I really have to push up into the first detent before I get any real increase in power. This goes for reverse as well. Not sure if this is by design or not. It's probably not a bad idea for this when docking/undocking to minimize giving too much power.

Something else I noticed was my fuel gauge is still reading 100%...I'd have thought after 3+ hours of engine time, my gauge would've moved. Not sure how many gallons I've used, but we mostly used slow speeds so far with the occasional 30+

After spending quite a bit of time yesterday, this boat really is a ton of fun and easy to use; especially for a first time boat owner. Seems to have a ton of power to get up to speed with ease.

I checked this morning and the transducer was angled up and not parallel to the boat. I did a quick adjustment...so we'll see next time I go out. Thanks again for that suggestion!

The TV's are a really nice addition on the 190's. Is your Speedometer wheel located upstream in that area? Like others mentioned, the rear looks angled up slightly. I believe the 56 series only needs somewhere in the neighborhood of 3mm below the waterline for fiberglass boats. Cant find that reference but I read it previously somewhere as I am looking at that unit as well. Make your adjustments very gradually and you should get readings up lower 30's. My 190 fuel indicator stays at 100% then drops off to 90% after several hours of boating. Nice stainless drain plugs!

Thanks! I did slightly adjust the transducer as it was angled up....will have to see how it works next time out(hopefully later this week).

One more thing to check if you haven't already-my trailer bearings were warm to the touch on my delivery trip home. I ended up putting 15-20 pumps from the grease gun into each bearing buddy.
