In my younger days I worked as a new construction plumber. When ever we had a new green hire we would have fun and send them out to get a right bend elbow and to make darn sure it wasn't a left bend elbow. Was always fun to watch them at the truck working through the issue.

Worked retail, and when shipment was coming, the new rube was sent to the opposite end of the mall to get "the wall stretcher" to make room.

The people who were in on it loved it, to the point that the last person I remember sending on the mission was sent to 6 different stores, from one end to the other, with phone calls to "see if they still had it" ??

Funny you say that. Once the new hire picked up on the joke for the right/left elbow we would follow up a couple days later to have them retrieve the pvc pipe stretcher when a cut was to short.

It was a right of passage and funny to see the once new guy play that joke on the newest hire.
