I've read a lot of stories of scupper valves failing on the forum, is there specific years that have the scupper below the water line? I have a 2011 242 Limited S and am wondering if this is something i really have to worry about since it is an older model.

Most of these boats with the exception of the 190/195 FSH and later model 222 / 252 / 255 FSH boats have their deck drain scuppers at or below the water line.

So yours is probably below the water line, post a picture of the stern of your boat for us to look at it.

I have the same year and model. It was not a known issue in this generation of hulls. Yes, they can fail, but not like the previous generation hulls.

I keep an eye on mine for deterioration and always pull my plug to watch for abnormal amounts of water entering the hull. So far, so good. As long as you watch it.

Good luck,
