Who are they?
From what I see on this forum it includes Chaparral, Glastron, and Scarab. Aren't these new entries in the jet boat market.

Yamaha was the best selling boat in the 21-24' class for recent years. So I see other manufacturers coming into the market to hold onto a piece of the market.

Am I wrong about this?

Clearly this is a ploy by the government to push it's pro-jet agenda. That Captain is a pawn trained to spout propaganda! :D

On the other hand, I think Ol' Mikey needs to pee in a cup and send it over to the lab so we can find out exactly what he's on...

Looks like boat test narrowly defines the class as jet boats (see the attached screen shot of an email I recently got from them). However, I would not be surprised if they are the sales leader in 21 to 23 foot runabouts including dedicated sport wake boats like master craft, Malibu etc. given the huge difference in costs when compared to a similarly high sized Yamaha. I fear props and know I'm not the only one, this all with the cost differentials is what drove me to jet powered boats.

"Why can't I trim my jet drive?"

...Because you don't need to?
What if I want to spray it in the air? Or point it down for wake surfing? Or move the bow up or down? That answer in not accurate. They could say "because it doesn't do much" and it would be a better answer.
