I am picking up my ‘23 195S tomorrow. It’s my 7 yr old daughter’s bday and I have been telling her for months that we were going on our first boat ride on her birthday. I am in Wisconsin and it’s expected to be mid 40s, drop to low 30s overnight. Is this a bad idea to break the boat in tomorrow? I fine with being cold on the water, I’m most worried concerned about water freezing in the boat overnight. Also is it a bad idea to take the boat out for less than the break in period (90 minutes) the first time out and finish the break in when I take the boat out the next time.

Any advice is appreciated

Pretty sure it needs to be significantly below freezing for anything to freeze on the boat or in the engines. I wouldn’t be worried about that.

Can’t really comment on the break in question. I don’t remember the 90 min criteria when I broke in mine in 2017. What does your owners manual say?

Just follow the owners manual for post operation…E.G. blow the excess water out of the water lock, pull the clean out plug and you’ll be fine as far as freezing water goes.

The break in period on an engine is run time based, so if you just want to go out and putt around with the kiddo for a while yiu can pick it up later, just remember where you left off.

As @Dave burke asks, what does the manual say?
