Thinking about going solo for 1st time

Wear a life jacket and hook the engine cutoff lanyard to you. I've gone a few times by myself in my lake with no issues but life vest and lanyard are a must.

Get one of these. Helps a lot with my wife trying to hook the dock and then we can pull the boat close and use the stern rope to tie in.

It did seem less stressful to dock the boat, my wife always gets super nervous / anxious when docking, which makes me stress out too

I bought two boat hooks that weren't much help docking but I used a hose clamp and a loop of 8mm OD Festo tubing to create the same thing. It turned out pretty well but we still don't use them much. :-/
