Purchased a new 222S a month ago and after 10 hours I went to do the proper oil/filter change. Warmed up the starboard engine in the lake (I have never used the hose connector) and upon pumping out the oil it became very apparent that the oil was full of water (milky). I proceeded to flush engine (running it in between) 3 times with fresh oil. Each flush the oil is still milky. During the first 10 hours, I never noticed a problem with the engine, never got an overheat warning, there was always clear (no oil) water coming from the pee-hole. I assume that this is a mfg defect from hour 1 and the engine ran for 10-hours with water in the oil. The boat is at the dealer waiting on inspection.
Question; does anyone have any experience in dealing with Yamaha on a situation like this? Obviously, this is a now and forever compromised engine I really do not feal good about settling for a repair on an $80K brand new boat. Best solution would be a full-swap to a different boat but do not know if that is in the cards. Thoughts?
BTW, love the boat
