We have been looking to add to our boating options

My first look at the Beneteau in 4 months, yesterday afternoon. Temp. was 62°. Pretty happy with what I saw. The cover and frame I built for $150 made it through the Winter better than the nearly $1000 shrinkwrap cover from last year. The picture of her still covered is difficult to see details but I was happy to see it still intact with all the wind and snow this past Winter.

We had none of the problems from last year.

Beautiful Spring day in the mid 60's today. The sap is running, the ice is going out, more 60 and 70° weather coming this week. Today we went out to the shipyard to take the Winter cover off and have lunch on the boat and plan our next refits. The boat is dirty and needs alot of cleaning, but we have time to do it before we splash.

They park them in pretty tight with boats on either side and below us. They parked a big maybe 50'er in front of us. Nice boat but still covered.

I do call it a shipyard, there are some pretty big boats here. Directly behind our boat you can see the wheelhouse, bridge of a LCT (Lake Champlain Transportation co.) car ferry in dry dock. This one is the "Plattsburgh".

She is at her slip for the Summer. Different dock/slip this year. Out at the end of the dock with one of the best views of the Adirondacks in Burlington. A little cloudy on a 75° day.

That vessel was built for excessive Miller lite consumption

Agreed! It really sucks having to put it all togerher in May and then take it all apart again in Oct.

I recall (without even needing to go to page 1) what she looked like when you started this adventure. What a difference!

Fair winds and fine sailing to you this season!

Ok, some before and after pictures are always fun. For those who don't feel like looking thru 21 pages.

Cockpit at survey day, filthy and outdated.

Soon...

A short clip of our sail today in 16kt winds. We made 6.3 kts SOG with one reef in the main and no genoa. First shake down sail of the season. Our earliest sail since we bought her. We went out for a couple of hours just into New York waters and an approaching front turned us around. We did get a little wet but not soaked before we reached Burlington.

We have a Ninja on the boat...

Cooking jalapeno poppers and chicken tenders in the galley since cockpit propane grills are not allowed at the marina.

Getting down to the details...I asked Willow to make captain navy sunbrella covers for the pos/neg, red/blk solar panel wiring exposed between the quick connect on the side of the bimini and the thru hull below. Did not want to expose the wiring to UV and the colors clashed with the boat. They fit perfectly. I will replace the temporary green electrical tape with velcro to attach to the tubing.

Ooh! The Lifesling! Cool. Do I need one of those?

Oh, and the Ninja thing is cool. Er, hot, I mean. Been discussing an air fryer with the admiral even for the house...

We use it alot. Been discussing if we need another one for home. It work really well on the boat and at home prior. The lifesling is like a throwable cushion with 100' of line attached to pull them back in.

Out at the boat after work for dinner and the sunset tonight. Lame hazy sunset, so I had to take this shot.

Dinner was very good with a shrimp stirfry in the galley.

That is one hell of an anchor light on the mast in that first picture...

I recently bought a winch bit from Harken that fits my 20v Dewalt drill and raised the Mainsail with it today. It worked great, but had to finish the last foot with a winch handle. So much easier than hand hanking or using a winch handle to raise the head of the sail up there. It's a game changer. No, it's not cheating.

A DeWalt?

Oh, that is fair. Nevermind. Carry on.
