What's Up with my Stoltz Bow Roller?

Installed the bells from the Stoltz 4" ultimate. I have the center just haven't bent the brackets to fit yet. The boat is barely making contact with the bells, seems like the angle of the bells is off. It's not cranked tight in this picture but contact is the same when it's cranked down. Bells spin freely they are not tight.

I found other images here and it seems those make a lot more contact. My boat is a 2017 Ar240.

Seems like maybe you could just keep winching it a little tighter and it would be more snug? Mine looks like that kinda till I winch it till I can't make it move anymore. I might overdo mine but I go very tight and at the end is when my stoltz roller starts looking normal with a tight fit and slight bend to it.

Thanks for the reply. It's weird when I crank it down it really doesn't make any more contact and I can hear it squeaking around. The angle on the wings is steeper than the stock ones.

I thought that he bells were there for when you are power-loading and miss the tiny center and scratch up your hull on the metal supports. Once you finish cranking it up it hopefully will self center.

The boat is not far enough up. Thr boat should be far enough up that’s the outer rollers are slightly under the lip in the bow just below we’re the rollers are now. When it is in the correct position it will bow out and distort the top edges of the outer rollers. This also help support the bow of the boat when trailering and will stop any bow bounce you may
be experiencing now. Going boating tomorrow will take picture of mine and post.

Since this was reopened, I figured I'd add to it. If the outer bells are distorted, then it's possible that they won't be doing anything. See @PJ73 and his damaged gel coat for proof of this. I really believe that the center roller is the key to a proper fit on the trailer, and the outer bells are there to protect you from the bolts that hold the whole bow roller assembly in place

Ideally I believe the center roller is for supporting the boat and the outer bells are to help align the bow. Most boats I see at the ramps the outer bells aren’t touching the hull or if they are it’s very minimal. If the outer bells are distorting then too much load or bow is being forced on them and a larger or different profile (thicker center cross section) would help get the bow off the outer bells. An ideal roller would be shaped as close to the bow contours as possible.
