Why did we upgrade from the 222 FSH to the 252 FSH?

A couple questions for you…
1. How would you compare the power between the two boats? The 222 is lighter and has less hull which will make it quicker. I run my 210 FSH at 5000’ and have had to go to high altitude impellers which is to be expected, I’m not all about going fast but I’d like your opinion on this question.

2. Can you give us some real world fuel consumption numbers including fuel load, cargo and people as well as temp and humidity. Best cruise, WOT and idling.

3. What are using the boat for and how much weight in cargo would you say that’s on your boat all the time?

4. Is there enough room on the battery shelf in the forward part of the head compartment to put three group 27 batteries?
 
1. I would say power wise the 252 is dang near identical in getting up on plane and acceleration as the 222 Sport E but at this time the 252 is 4 mph (MAX 46 MPH) slower than our 222 Sport E (MAX 50 MPH). The 252 is super comparable in hole shot and acceleration.

2. Currently have 8hrs on the boat/engines and have been averaging 1.9 mpg with an average cruise of 28 mph, I happened to check this just as I was loading the boat Monday. We don't tend to run full throttle, I typically run 28-35 mph. I would say the 4 trips we have been out on the boat we have had approx. 65 gallons on board for each trip and it's only me and the wife. I do carry a toolbox with tools, also tow line, safety gear, 4 quarts of oil, loaded cooler, etc.

3. We use the boat for cruising the local lake, anchoring out, swimming, and will take it to Florida this year for fishing, sand bar hoping, etc. I would say all the gear that stays in the boat minus the two batteries is within 125lbs or less.

I run a bit heavier when all considered, tools, downriggers, tackle, trolling motor, batteries and chargers.

I do like how you illustrated the difference in the seating at the helm, the fold up bolster looks like it makes a great back rest and would give you more purchase when standing and going through the rougher stuff. The other thing that bolster looks like it does when folded down is that it is higher than the main seat so that gives your butt something to push up against and not feel like you are going to slide off, kinda like a stepped seat on a dirt bike.

I use my boat about like you do, mainly cruising, but I do like to rip around once a day. I spend a lot of my time trolling, so I like the fully manual binnacle, it allows for fine adjustments to thrust.

The big bench seat in the back, it looks like someone could sleep there, not the most comfortable but definitely long enough. I sleep in the bow of my boat and its just enough length, a bit more room would be nice for sure.
