Im considering purchasing a 23 ft Yamaha. I've fit several LX210's in my standard size 18' x 20'garage with no problem. The garage on the house I just bought is larger at 20'x 21'. Just wondering if anyone has got one of the 23' boats to fit in a garage this size?

Not sure if it will fit diagonally but you will need an 8' tall garage door or you will have to do something creative to get it under the door. Hopefully the trailer with have a swing away tongue to save some length.

I saw someone with a 7' door they removed the wheels and tires, put the axles on dollies and it fit

Does the trailer have a folding tongue?

How much of the 20' width can you use?

I could fit my LX210 and my 19' 2" truck in a 40' x 14' stall with the LX210 at an angle. I can not do the same with my SX230 even with the tongue folded.

You have more width than I do and the diagonal of 20' x 21' is 29' so you may be able to make it fit if you can get the tongue inside the garage door.

Height is a good point. The windshield of my SX230 barely clears the 8' garage door.

Thanks for all the help! Yes I can use all of the 20' width. I told my wife I'd put the washer and dryer in the house if I had to lol. Do you have any idea of what the rear width of the boat is? The rear width dictates how far I can push the boat into the rear right corner of the garage...

I am also planning on taking the trailer to a trailer shop to have it modified where the boat will fit in height wise and to install the folding tongue... Really just worried about the length...

What year and model are you looking at?

My last house had a 20x20 garage. After measuring and looking at parking it in there a couple of different ways, I finally decided it was not going to fit no matter how much I wanted it to. Its going to be close if it fits at all in yours. Good luck!

lol thats exactly what I was thinking! Guess I'm gonna have to hope for the best and if not get storage. Appreciate the help!

I predict the boat will fit. Problem is the trailer...

You can also make sure the boat is as far forward on the trailer as possible. When you load it, drive it up until the bow eye bolt are not only against, but completely up and under the bow roller. That will get another inch over a sloppy load. If you get the tongue cut and a folding setup welded in, you can literally get it down to the length of the boat itself...just under 23'. The shape of the boat is such that angling in into a 20' wide garage may give you enough room. Here is a pic of the shape of the boat. The trailer won't extend to the back nor will it reach out past the bow point if you get a folding plate installed far enough back.

I hate to say it but fitting a 23 footer in a garage that size will be very difficult. I stuffed mine in a 3 car garage barely. My garage is 21 by 30. Under a 7 ft door as well but as you can see on my car dollies and casters.

Thx txav8r. Good info! After looking at that pic it does seem as though it may fit based on how the stern narrows. I think after modifying the trailer it may fit!

Jcyamaharider beautiful boat. I wonder if the 03' sr230 is the same height? I really don't want to have remove the wheels because we go out every weekend...

I don't know how tall a 230 is, but I can get my 7'4" tall SX210 into our garage with a 6'11" door without resorting to taking off the wheels, modifying the trailer, etc.. Just have to fold the tongue back and lower the nose all the way down on an ATV/Motorcycle frame jack and push it in before cranking it back up.

I measured my '04 sx230 without a folding trailer tongue in preperation of building a new garage this summer. Total length came to about 27' +or- 6" or so.
