As someone who recently shopped the 19-20' boat category I disagree, granted I do think they could add some new gizmos and tech to give the boat a refresh. Fundamentally, it is a well laid out and well performing boat within the size category that looks very good and Yamaha has no trouble selling as many as they can make without much in terms of incentives.
I don’t feel like the Yamahas out perform any of the top competitors in this category and the base 190 models under whelms performance wise in this category. Looks are on par with the top competitors and the swim deck is great as well but noise and fit and finish are so far below the top competitors in the category there is no way I would pick a 19ft Yamaha anymore as it is a popular entry level category and too many people have stepped up and produced a superior product in the same price range. The below list is just a quick list of boats I could remember I’m sure there were a lot more if I sat down and thought about it I would take over a 190/195. I have been on all these boats except the Tahoe and have seen all at boat shows in the same price range as the Yamaha’s except I think the cobalt was a little higher like $38k when I saw it.

Sea Ray SPX 190
Cobalt 200
Robalo r207
Regal 1900es
Regal 2000es
Tahoe 1950

Have you ever owned a 19ft Yamaha? Just wondering because the fit and finish on mine seems to be good. Being that is sets in our garage it still looks brand new. The reason the majority of us 19ft owners buy the Yamaha. There pretty much bullet proof and easily fit in our garage. I could easily buy a larger or more expensive boat but we love our little 19 ft Yammie. Three seasons in and not an issue with anything except the heat soak. Fixed for a cool $125.00. No hate just speaking up for us little guys with our 19 foot Yammies. Come on man throw us a bone to. lol

@Shannon i hope you are well my man long time no hear from. No I have not owned a 19 ft Yamaha but I have had two 24 ft Yamaha’s and the 19’s have the same fit and finish issues these do. I have how ever owned a 19ft hurricane deck boat and spent sometime on several 19ft Yamaha’s including driving @veedubtek 19 ft one around the lake for awhile last year. To say it was a let down would be an understatement I have to be honest I didn’t even feel like I was in a boat it felt like a play toy and my old 19 ft hurricane did not feel that way it felt like I was in a boat. I’m not bashing the 19 ft Yamaha as there is def s butt for every seat and there are many 19 ft Yamaha owners who love their boats and rightfully so but the game has changed a lot in the last few years and all I’m saying is there are def better buys out there then a 19ft Yamaha now and in that size range for me atleast it wouldn’t even be on my list. One thing to keep in mind is this is all opinion and there are no real facts any of us could throw out to say any of these boats are better as we all have different needs in a boat. I do like my AR240 is it my perfect boat no but it’s a good compromise boat for what my fam wants and what I want. I still feel the 21 and 24 ft boats are a good value and at an advantage in the market as they have twin engines and let’s be honest to step up to twin engines is a large price jump outside of yamaha so the value I feel is there to ignore some of the other short comings in that but the single engine market is very competitive.

No worries man. This will be my next twin engine in the very near future. The coast is calling our name and this fits the bill. Hope to see you in Sept. Told you we can buy a bigger boat. :) Check it out and yes it will be our address when we make the leap. The hybrid capabilities and solar freedom is unreal...Hint our yammies name bug-n-out.. https://www.greenlinehybrid.si/yacht/greenline-40/

I hope, at the very least, they will do future 19' Yamaha owners a solid, and put some god damn hinged seats in. If I could do anything else to my boat, that would be it.

2019 Yamaha fsh210 sport has landed at cycle springs powersports!

All new black and grey color!

Backrests for passengers!

Added grab handles on the sport tower!

New dash display!

3 rpm settings for jet wash!

New improvements to all Yamaha jet boats!

All will have the new reverse bucket with intuitive steering!

All 2019 boats will have the 3 step coating process to increase corrosion resistance!

New driveline that will combine the wear ring and impeller housing with a stainless/composite impeller sleeve pressed in!

Coiled trailer light connector! No more needing an adaptor!

Some cool stuff. Looks like they modified the buckets, perhaps taking ideas from several places.

I wonder if they saw this thread Upgrading to coiled 7 pin trailer connector

"New Reverse Bucket" - Wonder if this can be retrofitted?

"New driveline that will combine the wear ring and impeller housing with a stainless/composite impeller sleeve pressed in!" - For my engineers out there, please translate.

Sounds like they're bringing Ride over from the ski. Great move if that's the case.

All "ride" is, is the left throttle control for reverse, the actual reverse bucket it the same as all yamaha skis with reverse.
Left throttle=reverse , right throttle=forward, tap left throttle after being in forward=neutral.
Cant put "ride" in a boat

It is not uncommon to use large, impressive sounding words in marketing.

I also am confused about the combined wear ring and impeller housing with a stainless/composite impeller sleeve pressed in.

Part 3 in the image below is the aluminum impeller housing for my 2007 which has a stainless wear ring pressed in making it a aluminum and stainless composite impeller housing including a wear ring.

I believe I have read elsewhere that the duct impeller, part 7, is being combined with part 3. This will remove one joint making it easier to get a smooth pump surface and likely reducing cavitation.

Might be deceiving but looks like the reverse chute on the nozzle flare out more in that pic

It Appears you are correct I wonder if @JetBoatPilot lateral thrusters will still work on this design.

Just looks enlarged to me a little. Nothing like the BRP. For single engine boats they just need to adopt the same bucket designs as the Yamaha PWC's with slight tweaks to make it fit on the boat. @SamCF already did this on his 192 plus added the nozzle trim system lol. https://jetboaters.net/threads/adjustable-trim-and-directional-reverse-bucket-install.17569/

You are correct, of course.

I glanced at bucket in photo posted above on my phone, "miss saw" what I was looking at.

I still believe the BRP bucket design is superior to Yamaha's designs through 2018, however
