The guides are from a company called Fulton. 50" curved guides. The pads are from wakemakers. I have the pads super glued (thick) to the guides so they don't come off
I just ordered the same Fulton Trailer Boat Guide , 50-Inch from Amazon, looking for the pads.
Will the pads not stay on unless they're glued?

I have similar guides and used the foam style covers which are in a nylon cover (don't remember the brand). They fit pretty tight but I used a couple heavy duty zip ties on each side and they don't move up and down.

They have a foam center just like gunner says below. So they will move up and down. I was worried they would blow off while trailering down the interstate so I glued them down. Zip ties would work as well like below.

Brought her home last night for some stuff today. Much needed add ons.

Replaced bow roller finally. Been sitting in garage since last season....
20200209_125840.jpg

Installed my new sub enclosure. Decided to still leave it against bow seat under passenger helm. It just looks cleaner there then against back wall. Still sounds great. Used birch instead of mdf, and super happy with that choice. Vent for box still faces hull. Carpet is pretty close match. Definitely ordering more for next projects...
20200209_140009.jpg

20200209_140025.jpg

Still leaves enough storage room for back up beer cooler as well...
20200209_140042.jpg

Then I installed my Boat Buckles to get rid of my ghetto fabulous ratchet straps...
20200209_142902.jpg

Super happy with these. Location is great, and function so very well.

Time to replace some wiring with wetwires πŸ˜‰. Distribution blocks coming soon with next project.
20200209_145707.jpg

Yank the Fusion out and replace the rca adapter so I can use the wetwires cables... Used the old RCAs to fish the new wetwires ones in...

Covered her back up, and took her back to storage 😭. I'll be working on my new amp rack this week for the storage area. Same location. Just off floor, and clean looking without wiring mess😊

Ooooooeeeee this is gonna look good. Gonna lose a whole under seat storage, but it's ok we don't use it anyway.

Part one complete. Amp and distribution block rack (no electronics on it yet) . Designed to sit 5" off floor and rest on the bumps in compartment. Wall to wall basically.

@Hoyt I noticed in one of those sub pictures that the cupholder on your passenger side has a drain line on it. Did you add those or did Yamaha finally get smart and put drains on the cupholders from the factory?

Any idea if ALL of your cupholders have that, or just that one?

Currently have all of my cockpit holders plugged, and my transom cupholders plumbed into the rear cleanout tray. Been debating on plumbing the remainder of the holders into the cleanout tray, or just leaving them capped. Any idea where yours drain to?

The only ones with drain lines are on the swim deck unfortunately. The rest of the cup holders have holes to attach a drain line much like the swim deck, but do not have lines. The just drain down into the storage compartments. My original thought was to run clear tubing from the holders down into the bilge to drain them, and keep the compartments dry. After thinking more about it I decided that's just too much tubing with the possibility of kinks or holes. So I'll be plugging the cup holders drains with clear silicone soon. Really the only time great amounts of water will fill the holders is when I wash the boat, and I'll just use my dry cloth to get it out. Much like I have to do on Engine cover holders (only two without holes).

Edit : I do see in the sub pic there is one on that cup holder. I'll have to look further, and see how far it goes. I'm thinking it dumps out right onto floor though

Gotcha. Yamaha still not putting drains on them.

FYI, if it rains while you're out. The bimini top is **JUST SHORT** of the windshield, and drips directly into the dash, which then runs down into the cup holders, and soaks the storage compartments. Same for the front bow area, and the rear seating cockpit area. If you get stuck in the rain, your compartments WILL get wet unless you cap those. I've had it happen multiple times on mine. Makes the formed gutters around the seats somewhat useless.

Also, be aware, there is no gutter around the anchor locker and it drains into the ski locker.......so if you sit in the rain very long it will leak enough water into the ski locker to be, well, a problem. Wife and I sat in the rain two Septembers ago for like 4 hours waiting to lock through. When we went to get on plane, boat felt sluggish....ski locker had about 2ft of water in it.

With the cupholders capped, the storage areas stay fairly dry overall, and we don't keep dry items in the locker anymore. We also now keep our towels in a waterproof container in case we get rained on. One of these days I'm going to build a camper canvas for it, but that's more pipe-dream than real project at this point.

I'm thinking capping all the cup holders is probably the best bet. As well as a bead where the holder meets the boat as well while I'm at it. Keeping the storage as dry as possible.

this may be a whole other can of worms, but if you expect this to happen when it rains with the ski locker, would it not be a good idea to open the plug to the bilge so that the pump can take care of it?

Or wait for the rain to stop, and break out the wakeboard with free ballast πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

This is exactly what I've done. The cupholders have been removed and siliconed underneath, then capped from below. It keeps the water on the top side of the storage areas, and only lightly annoys the wife when her beer coozy gets wet from the can perspiring and not draining :D

Yes, I typically leave the ski locker plug IN during a dry day trip. The boat leaks enough I want to keep whatever water gets in the bilge OUT of the ski locker. If I get caught in a downpour for multiple hours (happens about once a year), then I'll get in there and open that plug to prevent excessive build up. It's kind of a catch 22 situation, and IMO there is no "correct" answer to the plug in/out issue for the ski locker.

The larger issue IMO is that a 19ft Yamaha full of people does NOT sit "stern heavy" enough to make the water drain to the rear of the boat. If everyone is huddled in the cockpit trying to stay dry, the lowest point of the boat becomes the front "curve" of the hull. Water will drain FORWARD in this case, and pools under the ski locker. Have to either get on plane, move people to the swim platform, or otherwise raise the bow to get the water to flow rearward and get to the bilge pump. This is just an inherent design of the hull from Yamaha, and not much we can do about it really.

I'll be adding a second bilge this year I think, in an attempt to keep the bilge a bit dryer in general during these rain outs. The stock pump doesn't sit in the lowest part of the bilge and requires too much water to be present to begin pumping IMO. Not a huge ordeal really since I'm not in rough waters, or rain events very often, just my own OCD about keeping the water on the OUTSIDE of the boat.

Ooooo gifts came in today.
20200215_192440.jpg

Went with the Shiney version
20200215_192618.jpg

So I wanted something different then the normal wakeboard racks that stick out of the side of the boat. Being that I only own one wakeboard, and very soon (update?) one surf board..... I went a different route. These are Reborns new surfboard racks. Designed to hold board in rack against tower instead of sticking out (vertical instead of horizontal).
20200215_192840.jpg

After email's back and forth to Reborn I decided to do two of these instead. The between the forks measurement is actually perfect for my wakeboard stance. So I'll have wakeboard on one side and surfboard on the other πŸ‘Œ

I'm definitely looking forward to seeing how this mounts up on the tower and if it supports a surfboard well. These might be something I'll invest in as well. I like that it holds them on their side edge.

That's what I liked as well. Hopefully spring is coming here in VA so it won't be too long till they are mounted 😊

That rack looks amazing.

We raft up often and put friends with more traditional board racks always have to rotate them inboard. That eats into head room and we didn't like that. These "Vertical" board racks look like a great solution.

Any idea one could mount that rack to the "top" of the tower? To hold the board horizontally?

I'm sure you could mount them to the top. They have traditional clamps that go around the tower. Only one bolt holds them to clamp it looked like (might be two). So you could mount them anywhere you felt they worked

I have the same issue with our traditional racks when we tie up as well. Looks like this rack is about 120 bucks. If it has a few different mount points that will work I may want a couple of them. Wonder how it would do with the added weight of our kids Zup 2.0. Would be amazing to get that big board up flat against the tower.

The rack holds a board up to 3.5" wide. Shouldn't be a problem at all holding the Zup. The Zup only weighs 15 pounds. These racks are solid. I'll be putting a 5'4" Liquid Force board on it soon πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‰
