Is the Parker in the water for sea trials? Or, on the hard in a dealer lot?
The Parker is at the dealer for 100hr service. And am I glad she's not in the water here right now...! we have had snow and freezing rain w/ hurricane strength winds blowing across the NY bight the last couple days. Just looking at windy.com's scary:
EDIT: current situation, it was actually significantly worse last night
The dealer is trying to convince me to sell, apparently has people giving him money to see the boat, no joke. I have wanted to delay until we take the delivery of Edgewater which will be another month, at least. We closed last week so we own the 280cx (!), but I have never been in one on the water; I don't expect to be disappointed but you never know; boat market like the current one does not come around too often, and the Parker is a solid boat for us at half the price of the 280cx.
It's nuts, most 2022 popular boats are already sold out, and the used market seems to be mostly project boats right now.
Meanwhile, a new Edgewater 280cx I finally got to see at the Atlantic City boat show had a list price of... 420k. And, sadly, showed some "covid features", on top of the insane price tag; cost cutting apparently effecting all manufacturers. Bottom line, us managing to lock into a three year old vessel, nicely equipped, at a little over half the new price seems like it was pure luck in this market.
Come spring, I know I will still have the AR240, and fairly certain we will still have the Edgewater 280cx; in which case the Parker 2320 will need to go...
