That’s a good day! Is it getting icy there yet in mid March?
In the mornings it’s a little crunchy. Got 6” fresh powder Sunday night. I had fun in the trees back in the China Bowl area.

Enjoying the beautiful weather and scenery in Sedona, AZ. Spring break with the wife and kids. The whole town is packed with people with lots of traffic. Thankfully we are staying out of town up the mountain by the airport. 20220315_142436.jpg20220315_142409.jpg

It’s unfortunately become a complete shitshow there any time of year at this point but you definitely went at peak time. Crazy warm right now.

Full on Maple season. Good vacuum.

The sap is pouring in to the vacuum releaser at the pump shed.

Filling a 4000 gallon tank today. Ya, that is frozen sap floating on top.

Still waiting on the Maple group buy here....

I don't boil, I only sell raw sap wholesale to a big operation with 3-4 evaporators. I could inquire about $$$ of a 30 gallon barrel of syrup.

@zipper, do you have to use a Canadian gauge when processing maple syrup? :p

I have never seen the raw sap. I wouldn't have guessed that a tank of the raw sap was so clear!

Tinted green. We use either a refractometer or a hydrometer. Something like this to test sugar content, (Brix).

It's a Crocus. Lucky you! Not likely to be seen around here for a few more weeks, although today will be in the 60's. Not good for maple season. When ours come up I will also take a picture to compare the difference 6 hours travel time, 1200 ft in elevation and 5 plant zones can make.

EDIT: Science: USDA Hardiness Zone Map - Ornamental Plant Care Information from PlantsGalore.Com

The morning dog run during mud season can be a mess. Searching for the last remnants of snow to keep them relatively clean after a 65° day yesterday.
