I am a proud owner of a new 2023 AR220. We picked up our boat in August of '23. I am a former owner of an I/O boat. I must ask, Has anyone had issues with warranty work being done in a timely manner. I am being told by the dealer, "We are waiting on parts." Is this a dealer issue or a Yamaha issue?

Its a Yamaha issue. Has been the norm since Covid.

Nice boat!

Nice ride!

What are the parts the dealer is waiting on?
Wireless charger on the port side (never worked discovered the issue during the test drive), and a replacement hatch for the head compartment. It was mounted incorrectly causing it to bow out near the bottom. Other issues were repaired by the dealer.

glad to have you on board, that's a nice looking boat, congratulations,

unfortunately it can be both a dealer and yamaha problem especially since covid as mentioned above,

what dealer are you using ?

I had the same issue with my port side charger on mine as well. It wound up being just the wireless charging base wasn’t screwed into the fiberglass properly underneath the charging pad. I just fixed it myself and have had no other issues with mine.

I hope they get it all repaired for you in a timely manner.

Well, I tried your suggestion. The portside wireless charger works now! Thank you for letting me know how you addressed the issue. I informed the dealer and they have made notes of it incase this happens to another boat.

I bought a 2024 AR 220 last year.

Here is my write up on my first year with it.

I will say this year, we didn't get as many hours on it that we planned on (daughter graduated HS, and all the Graduation party's and her senior trip the Canadian Rockies), we didn't the boat in the water until July 4th.
But I still stand behind my original response of loving the boat. Its no speed demon, so if you want speed find something else. But it torquey as hell and will run 35-40mph depending on if you have the bimini up down, 2 people, 8 people or towing tubes or not towing tubes.

Rough water handling is great and twin engines make for simple docking despite many people saying you need steering enhacements.

I’ll chime in as well.

We have a 23’ 220 with 124 hours on it as of yesterday. Boat has been rock solid since purchasing it new in May of 2023. It’s super easy to do servicing on and relatively inexpensive to operate. The TR-1’s have performed flawlessly. As stated previously it’s no speed demon. If speed is what your after then spend the extra $15,000 or so and buy a 222S.

As for wakeboarding and tubing the boat is perfect. Wether it’s a day of water sports, cruising around the lake, restaurant hopping on the Chesapeake Bay or just taking a sunset ride, the 220 has been a great fit for our family. It’s got plenty of storage space too for all of the stuff we carry with us.

It’s also easy tow from place to place. You definitely don’t need a full size truck/SUV to get it around. At right about 5,250lbs on the trailer with gear and some fuel it weighs in light enough that a lot of mid sized trucks, SUV’s and Jeeps can safely tow it.

All in all after 3 seasons we’re still enjoying the heck out of our AR220

Thanks great reply been worried some have said it doesn’t have enough power if you have 5-7 people on it or that they have had engine trouble. I’m looking for family boat for next 10 years have 3 girls and wife so wanted something big enough and don’t need to go 50 but would like to be able to do water sports

With that many girls you might consider a larger boat with a head compartment?
At sea level the TR-1’s will be plenty perky enough.
