At home feeding dogs and wife sends me a couple of videos from the marina...there is damage.

Last night from the boat as spent fireworks shells rained down on us.

I confirm it feels like 115. It’s brutal outside today.

This is the boat. Some hull damage at the bow and a broken window.

Really odd feeling to be a southeastern lake boater headed out with nothing but water on the horizon!

Also, I'm completely blown away with how clear Lake Erie is. We measured with a toy on a line. Could see clearly over 25 ft down! G is over 4 ft under here. I'm just completely flabbergasted by this!

FINALLY, some Lake Erie talk ?. Lake Erie is great, grew up on it my entire life before moving to Florida. Grandpa, stepdad and uncle were all charter captains, made for the best childhood. Just be cautious, as Lake Erie is the shallowest of the Great Lakes, the water doesn’t create swells like the other deeper lakes, and the waves are stacked on one another with no backs. Brings the word choppy into perspective quickly. And for the clear water, thank the invasive species the “zebra muscle” for making the water so clear. They filter the water, you would think it’s a good thing but makes walleye fishing very difficult when you can see 20’ down, or the fish can see 20’ up.

If you ever want to take a drive one day to Ohio, about 4 hours from Buffalo is Grand River Ohio. There are two restaurants by one another called Pickle Bills and Brennans Fish House. They are about 5 minutes from where I used to live in Mentor. The kids would also enjoy walking the break wall down past the lighthouse too at Headland Beach State Park. Pretty cool to see the big freighters and the Morton Salt Mine.

I didn't have a thermometer (my boats to simple for that :) ).

Best guess, high 60's to low 70's. Cold enough to shock you when you jump in, but warm enough to get acclimated and be comfy for a bit.
???
I’ll stick with the mid-80’s water temps down here.
