Does that roller fuller not connect to the boat in the center? That’s crazy?!

Yes, it does not. Many smaller performance beachcats, like Hobie use this type of rig.

I went all in on EV, albeit a little late and purchased a 2026 Tesla Model Y. I picked it up at the Tesla Service Center which was about 150+ miles from our home. Unfortunately there are no Tesla Service Centers near where we live and that can be a downside of owning a Tesla. Their service was excellent. The technicians were very helpful and patient answering and explaining on how things work. I also noted most looks to be in their twenties and thirties. I guess that is to be expected as the car runs on computers and younger folks are more likely to be attuned to modern technology than someone significantly older like myself (80 +). That does not mean we should not have one as it is definitely fun to drive.
After setting the GPS to home we left the Center using regular drive to get the feel of the Y. It was smooth and GPS was right on target and adapted when I wanted to go a different way.
Some Driving observations:
We stayed in regular drive about halfway and then switch to auto drive. IMO it takes awhile to get use to it and is a trust thing. Especially driving regular automobiles one's whole life. Once use to it is amazing. Like I said it is a trust thing. In regular driving you have to be light on the acceleration pedal or else you will be at 80 MPH before you know it. It is quick to say the lease. The car is quite on the inside. Our granddaughter enjoyed watching YouTube on the back screen. The AC is awesome and certainly needed on the hot days. The a cool seats are also nice and work well and seats are comfortable.

Well, if you ever have some jack-assery happening on your boat you can add this to a jet boat benefit! Otherwise this chowder head would a been cheese grated.

Natural Selection....

At our favorite local swimming hole yesterday. Thayer Beach, good place to be on a 92 deg. Monday.

Great cars! I am going on 41K miles in my Model 3 and have just invested $40 into new wipers. 41,000 miles and cost of maintenance is $40!! My Ram trucks would have had $500 in oil changes by now and countless days spent at the dealer/rental car place doing warranty repairs.

You and me both.
One of the best features for new users is the voice activation option to turn things on and off to prevent stumbling through screens at first. Its also nice to use voice control to search the user manual for the section you need.

Just let the neighbors take the Model Y out and engage Full Self Driving to bring it back. They are stumbling to find words just like me.
My son in law said it best. "this is a smart phone in a world full of flip phone cars"

100% -- Haters will see the light eventually.

While I'm not a proponent of EVs, I do see the appeal, so I wouldn't exactly call myself a hater. And after being given the opportunity to drive one, they are extremely fun to drive. I'm even considering buying a used Model S Plaid to strip down and drag race at the local track on test and tune nights. I think the technology is amazing and really pushing the boundaries of what I thought I would ever see in my lifetime. While I think there will be an unlimited amount of things in the future that will benefit immensely from the tech being put into EVs, I'm just not to the point where I believe that everyone should have one.

Who knows, maybe one day we'll even have self driving boats, so we can go out and wakeboard solo. ;)

I dunno. Personally, I like driving except for rush hour, which I no longer have to do. I have no plans for paying for a feature I’m not going to use.

I am like you -- I would rather just drive myself...and I do. My hater comment is more towards the people that just don't agree with the EV idea as a whole.

Congrats on the new car.

What do you do if you need a recall addressed or warranty work done. Back to the service center or maybe a mobile service?

Gotcha! I think our next vehicle will be an EV. I love my RAM and plan to keep it for a long time, but it would be nice to have something a bit sportier to drive and more economical for normal driving.

I miss my RAM ! I had RAMs for 24 years. The entire reason that I went to Tesla is because RAM dealers (and the entire industry) told me that my pristine used truck was worth squat and their shiny new truck was worth $10k over sticker....and look, we added all this nice aftermarket crap too! I got tired of the sales game and started looking at Tesla. Hands down it was the easiest purchase and totally maintenance free ownership. So happy that I made the change. Just need to wait for Tesla to make a truck that has a usable bed.

I kept my 2012 F250 diesel. It runs fine and is all paid for. It also pulls the boat and / AS.. I have found the Model Y quick, rides well (Claire said nicer then her Jeep) and it is fast.
