Hi, I'm new.and don't know much about boats. How do I figure out which oil change kit I need? I just got a 2022 AR210. It had 10 hrs on it and I've already added another 7hrs in the first week, so I wanted to change the oil for the break-in change. I can't find a listing anywhere for the oil filter I need and it's not in the manual. Thanks in advance. If anyone wants to list their favorite parts, oil extractor, spark plugs, oil weight (if other than 10W-40), please, I'm all ears to your experience.

Cool thanks. His kits don't have the oil filter gasket looks like so I'll need to find that somewhere else.
Oil filter gasket? Its part of the oil filter

The product description said "without o-ring". Is there a different o-ring needed for an oil change? I guess that's not a gasket. I assumed it meant the same.

All Yamaha oil filters, and any other brand oil filters have the gasket pre installed on the filter. Its not like a sea doo doo with a cartridge style filter that needs o rings replaced in the housing cover.

Any spin on filter doesn't need any other gaskets or oring

Get a service manual for your boat. This will prove invaluable for the maintenance on your boat.

Your owners manual lists the correct oil to use in a given temperature range. The “W” in 10W-40 does not stand for weight, it stands for “Winters” or the ability of the oil to flow at 32° F, so the 10W oil is the viscosity of the oil and indicates the flow characteristics of 10 Viscosity oil and the 40 is the viscosity of the oil at 212°F. Great explanation here; https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/r/advice/car-maintenance/motor-oil-what-do-numbers-really-mean Using too high of a W oil will not allow the oil to flow properly at engine start when the engine is cold, starving the parts that rely on a film of oil and causing premature wear. The discussion oil brands is akin to discussing religion or politics, look for a high quality oil that does uses independent third party testing and that will narrow your search, beyond that I’d suggest a fully synthetic marine oil in these small high revving engines.

Spark plugs, whichever one Yamaha specifies. Others have tried using fine wire plugs or other plugs with poor results and extra cost. These engines can eat plugs, at the first sign of rough running or hard starting replace the plugs, lots of people have solved rough running engines with a new set of plugs. Typically they’re good for 100 hours or more, I usually get 200 hours plus. Be sure and set the gap to minimum spec before installation. If you’re in salt water a VERY THIN coating of anti seize on the threads would be prudent.

Oil evacuator; I bought this one and really like it, it’s graduated which enables you to know how much oil has come out of each engine.

Be sure and grease the intermediate bearings as well.
