    Yamaha 195S Saltwater usage/maintenance

Then you have been lucky, this cables have no protection for saltwater and when one of them goes, the other one is not far, might as well replaced them both. Not fun once the cable jams in one position. Again, not a big job, and can be done at home after buying the cables. Lots of threads...

    Yamaha 195S Saltwater usage/maintenance

I've had my boat since 2015 190 FSH, 230 hours all saltwater in south Florida. Saltaway 1st 5 minutes and then fresh water. Wash boat with carwash soap and lots of fresh water. Keep boat covered after it's dried up. One thing that you will have to change, no matter what you do to protect...

    Truck battery not fully charging

Sorry for the late reply, but I work in the automotive manufacturer area of the business, AGM batteries were supposed to be the best thing after slice bread, but after years of tryng them out in the field they do not last any longer then the original flooded batteries. One of the first symptoms...

    Boating Accident in FL Keys

I boat in this area all the timetje markers are very visible. At 6:30 pm you still have a lot of daylight to see. They mention 14 passengers in a boat, that is a lot of distraction if they are not all sitting and that most likely played into the accident. As per the coment of the shitshow "I...

@help. Replacing steering cable removed rear nut but now what?

Put a few sockets together into the cable to build an extension and hit it with a mallet. See picture

    Problem with boat surging

With a ar240 you have enough power to pull a tube, I pull 3 kids on a 190 without any issues I have seen this due to the tube having a ripped bottom and taking water making like parachute in the bottom and creating additional resistance.

    Need some stereo help

Most likely, either they did not do the turning correctly or you have a bad amplifier.

    Need some stereo help

The cut out is from your amp, you may be clipping and the amp is giving out, or you just may have a bad amp. Did you tune your amp to avoid clipping

    FSH 190 Steering

@paulwjax I'm on the same boat. After having my boat for 2 years, I did the steering cable lubrication method and it worked the 1st time, it's not perfect but brings your steering to about 60 tp 70% better and with time it will get harder. After 6 years, my cable finally gave our to the point...

    Engine not on Title

This is normal down in Florida when you buy a boat with outboard engines, so that you only pay taxes on the hull and not the engines. Normally on inboard engines they are include it in the title, but I would not worry about it, if anything you will be paying less taxes.

    Speaker/Amp Recommendations

Here is my experience in saltwater environment: I bought this amp about 3 years ago, within 2 years one channel stopped working, and by the 3rd year all all outside connectors were corroded. Sound wise, it was not bad, not the greatest. You get what you pay for but don't expect to last more then...

Used car with Automatic Emergency Braking??? Opinions? Teen driver!

That is the trend, still to this date they are throw away transmission. If you have a vehicle out of warranty with a CVT, you are left with the only option of swapping with a junkyard transmission and hope it works, as replacing it with a new one cost more then the price of the vehicle and no...

Used car with Automatic Emergency Braking??? Opinions? Teen driver!

Stay away from any vehicle that have a CVT transmission, no matter the brand (Nissan uses it in most of their small cars) this transmission are troublesome and no one will rebuild them. As for Emergency braking, yes I understand your decision, but I would also suggest using the money to pay for...

installing a Lowarence Elite 5 on a FSH

I never tried the ziplock bag method, I just picked a good flat area in the back of the boat away from the jet, and it has worked for 6 years without any concerns. I only loose depth when I come to a quick stop or go in reverse. I have replaced the GPS unit 3 times in the last 6 years, but not...

Thrust Vector or not to Thrust Vector a 252 SD

I took a year before I purchased TVs, to make sure I mastered the steering and docking of the boat, having the TVs helped a lot with slow speed cruising and being able to hand the boat to my wife or my son whenever I need to make any type of adjustments on the boat while leaving the dock. It is...
