I have a brand new boat and I am aware of the 10 hour service AKA an oil change. The owners manual specifies to change the oil but the oil filter change box is not checked on the 10 hour service, it’s check on the 50 hour and then 100 hour.

The purposes of the 10 hour is to get out any oil that may have potential metal shavings in it. Those shavings would find its way to filter as well so why do they not specify to change this out as well?

No matter what it states. Change the filter anyway

Always change the filter when changing the oil. Contrary to the manual, many dealers say do the 1st oil change at 20 hours.

Absolutely change the filters!
Are you doing the 10 hour service or are you going to have the dealer do it?

If you do not have a service manual it is highly recommended to get one, lots of great information in the service manual about regular maintenance.
