2015 Yamaha Jet Boat Pictures

Yeah I mean I could get a early 2000 Cruisers Yachts 32 ft for that with twin's. Of course now we are talking bottom paint, outdrive maint, slip fee's, power, water, etc....

I dont hate the touch screen, but it does bother me that the bilge control is incorporated into it. If that thing fry's and you need your bilge running... I dunno. Maybe they put one in that has a float switch?

Looks like the bilge is on a toggle switch below the screen:

From http://features.boats.com/boat-cont...a-240-series-ultra-quiet-surefooted-tracking/

"Regular push buttons at the bottom of the unit control bilge pump, lights, and horn. The “Trip Info” screen displays fuel usage and rpm for each engine, as well as boat speed."

Is it just me or do the forward swept towers look 3/4 sized for the boats? Awkwardly small. I do not like any of the new colors/graphics and do not like the complexity of the touch screen. The "beverage center"? really? seriously? Can you say it with a straight face, when it is just an airplane tray?? Articulating keel looks like a single rod ready to fail or get bent, no thanks. The new anchor locker is great unless you have a different anchor and then it is terrible.

I like sound deadening (finally), extra cupholders on the swim deck, tow point anchor light, and (albeit small) storage in the seat backs that was wasted before.

I was hoping for more, not wowed at all. No major changes IMHO.

The 242 LS is hot! New buyers will be fine with the prices since the competition costs even more. I think Yamaha answered the call.

Another brilliant move, at least in my opinion is moving the dang bow Nav light to the anchor box lid! I hate that the ladder always seems to bang on the Nav light when I'm getting the ladder in and out. Now along those lines, I'm not sure on the anchor storage being separate from the ladder. In theory yes, but due to the size you won't be able to store anything except the Yamaha anchor there.

There are a lot of features I really like. A few I don't think we're well thought out. For example, if people put ice in the new bar area how long until water ends up in the lower glove compartment? (Just picking nits). I'll be trading in my '12 but it'll be a few more years.

Dang, the more pictures, video, descriptions I see, the more I like it.

Oh! I'm claiming the name "Gray Ghost" now!!! Love that color scheme...

He said when you come off plain the boat goes into "float mode" and gives you access to the radio functions...do you not have this access when underway? That's a deal breaker if so

My guess is when you go to float mode it automatically come up, i.e. top display. While underway you will probably have to navigate through the menus to the radio controls.

I'm calling BS on the whole shebang!

All that and STILL....NO DISCO BALL !!??

What would you have done better?

What would you have done better?

Well for starters, I am not a boat designer, engineer, or international company, so the remainder of this is irrelevant, but...

A more robust tower design, higher quality interior for the entire line up, different graphics and colors, remove the bow ladder completely, not spend money on the articulating keel. If slow speed steering is so bad, they wouldn't be selling like mad. Sound insulate the entire lineup, it ain't that expensive. Properly hinge all the seats, upgrade the actual stereo system, not just add a touch command center. Perfect pass anyone? They already have GPS, so... Actual designed storage locations for,the table and legs. A usable anchor locker, although I like that the strut is added.

That's a start. I like a few of things but overall it isn't a big deal IMHO. I hope people love them and buy them, it helps resale...

Wait a minute Pal!! All you wanted for years was a damn locking glove box, now you got one and you come up with a silly disco ball? Geesh

Oh wait....... That disco ball better be LED in the 2016's!

Lets be honest here. What we are comparing is the 2014 vs 2015.

Here are the major upgrades:
1. New Tower with integrated Anchor light and Tower speakers
2. 6" in additional length. Extends the Bow anchor locker.
3. Modified Head unit. new form for integrated paper-towel/toilet paper holder. new outside cooler/glove-box
4. Co pilot modified seat is now a captain chair
5. Swim Platform storage
6. Hinged seating lifts
7. New Electronics at Helm
8. Keel Rudder
9. Engine Sound Dampening

Price for 2015: $61,499
Price for 2014: $56,799
Difference: $4,700

Now most of these items have been the major upgrades covered on this forum and alike. And to some degree have a modification available.

Was this a major over haul of the design? NO
But that is still a good list of items they have addressed in a single year revision!

What I have like most of this boat line and the vendor? They are paying attention the owner groups and modifying their designs based on our needs. They are keeping to a "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" mentality. I have to respect that.

Would I like a lot of these new features? Bet your ass I would!!! But to be honest, I'm looking forward to the modifications and the reduced cost of the 2014 I just purchased!

I was surprised at the price increase, expected to see 59,999 to be honest.

All that said, Can't wait to get my 2014 on Saturday!!! Will be on Lake Lanier in GA this Sunday, Say hello if you see me out!!!!

This forum has some great contributors and members, here's looking to making some great memories
