I got my title today to my 2021 ar190. It says 1812 cc 4 cylinder 168hp. Online the specs all say 180hp. Did I get a 4 star boat by accident? I cant get over 35-36 mph and my rpms wont go above 7200. I'm at 5 hours on it so far. I bought it in texas.

@Ibeflyinhigh ..... Yamaha traditionally underestimates the HP of its engines and definitely de-tunes their wave runner supercharged engines, not sure about their boats but maybe those too. My 2018 Wave runner Supercharged SVHO Cruiser consistently hit 51-52 MPH and that was without any tuning or ribbon delete actions on my part. My 2020 Yamaha SX195 (supercharged) also ran 50 MPH consistently with the Admiral (wife) on board and 3/4 tank fuel. Questions: what was the temperature and humidity as these factors can rob an engine of up to 20% power no problem. Have you considered non-invasive changes such as the ribbon delete approach to get a bit more power? I do not have experience with non-supercharged Yamaha 1.8L engines the 1.8L supercharged are beasts. RIVA Racing has many, many options for you to consider once your warranty has expired. They can easily guide you to higher "safe" HP increases.

I had a 2017 Ar190 hit 41 on the gps one time, 1/2 tank and just the wife and I. 35/36 sounds about right, It was 100% stk no performance mods. If you have anyone in the bow that will also slow you down.

Not getting above 7200rpm isn't right, you should be able to hit 7400/7500 even at a little bit of altitude. Before mods my 190 would not get much about 38/40mph at ~1200ft with 110F weather.

Yamaha derates the output on the stickers. They did it on my boat. 104.5kw = 140hp and I have the HO MR-1's that are 160hp. Top speed 48.8 on GPS is he highest I have seen to date.

@zipper ......yes, exactly. I saw a U.S.C.G. report that stated manufacturers' (non-racing) oem PWCs intended for public passenger sales could not exceed 70mph on a 3 pass test. Yamaha was getting 75+ mph consistently with their supercharged models and had to de-tune them. My friend and I had identical 2018 Yamaha SVHO Wave runners. On an 80 degree day with about 70% humidity and about a 1" ripple on a lake we ran GPS verified (two sources) 71 MPH averaged between the 4 runs (on one run I ran 72 MPH) with the two runs for each machine back and forth over a marked distance. I will try to find the U.S.C.G report. I lent it to some friends. Also - on a test dyno a 2018 Yamaha SVHO 1.8L supercharged engine with no modifications running on 91 octane "marine gas" (no ethanol) pulled 35 HP more than Yamaha literature indicated using the same test parameters. That's good news for us as it definitely means we have awesome power yet with Yamaha's rating scale can mean lower insurance rates and no surcharges (in some jurisdictions) for higher HP. I have had a lot of high performance vehicles over the years but the launch of the Yamaha 1.8L supercharged engine on their Waverunners is un-Godly! The launch of the SX195 is pretty darn good too - although not near what the Waverunners are because the boat weight causes impeller spin and some cavitation.

I'm getting about 35-37 top speed on a 2021 AR190 as well. The new models are wider and slower that the previous models, You'll see 2018 and earlier getting into the 40's, but I have yet to see a 20 or 21 (Without mod's) above 40.

I have 19 SX190, you are not far off but on the low side of speed and rpm from my experience at 900 ft elevation. Your numbers would represent my August 90+ degree and high humidity performance. In the early spring I can hit close to 40 mph at 900ft. My rpm was usuall 74-7500 rpm before I did the ribbon delete this fall. Now I usually hit 7600+ rpm. We should have a special thread for all the new 190 owners titled, yes your boat is slower than you thought it would be.
