What was the rev limiter increased to ? And what is the stock rev limiter set at?
So the app uses your phone as the data logger?
My prediction will be that when you drop the impeller pitch to increase the rpms to the new rev limit which just increases effective displacement to move more air and burn more fuel, that your “hole shot” will suffer, E.G. it will cavitate badly if you apply throttle too quickly, and may break away in tight turns.
How much have you spent so far on the tuner? I don’t mean to be rude but I know I, and I believe others, want to see how much money is being spent for how much of a gain in top speed and what the down sides are.
I suggest before you start swapping impellers, since there doesn’t appear to be any gains thus far as your top speed is still the same, you go out and run a series of tests to see exactly how that OEM impeller behaves, check the gph at different rpm levels, make a full lock turn at WFO and hold until you’re going really slow in a tight circle, note the level of cavitation that is occurring then straighten the wheel and note the level of cavitation as the engine revs back up and starts to accelerate. Put the boat riding the hump, or nose high just before the boat will plane, note the level of cavitation-you’ll hear and feel it if any and the rpms in all of these situations. I ran all of the same tests when I was testing impellers and still do when I test to know as best as I can what the changes in the impeller do across the operational envelope.
Looks like your density altitude was 2796 last time out.. you didn’t include the altimeter setting so I just picked 29.95. From what I can see there was no gain so far from the tuner. After you got the engine sorted and removed the ribbon, which netted about 100 rpm, 7450 to 7550, increase in slightly lower density altitude conditions and the speed was the same at 38 mph. Yes the break away revs were higher at 7820 due to the higher rev limit but dropped back to 7200 once the impeller hooked up and slowly climbed up to a peak of 7550.
