210FSH no start after top end rebuild

Pulled spark plugs this morning and they are black. So something with fuel/air mix isn't going right.

Any thoughts?

Are the MAP and IAT sensors hooked up?

Have you done a proper leak down test? If not i would, compression tests can show good but fool you to thinking its good. I have had great compression readings only to have a leakdown fail. Leak down is going to show you 100% how good the integrity of the compression chamber is

After pulling plugs and grabbing some new ones to see if it would fire off. Got nothing.

Ran compression test again and I have now lost cylinder 2. Cylinder 1 is still at 200, cylinder 2 is 0, and cylinder 3 is now reading 240. So something happened when the engine died on the water.

Starting to question all this yamaha tr-1 reliability propaganda.

Its not a reliability problem with the engine, you took apart the engine because you or someone broke a spark plug off in the head. So put the blame on whoever took apart the engine and reassembled it.

Thanks for the diagnostic assistance.

But let's look back at the larger issue of the spark plug and its poor engineering. There is a known issue where cylinder 1 on these engines experiences corrosion etc on that plug even when maintenance is performed regularly etc.

Anyway. I'll continue to dig. Will most likely do a leak down test to see if I can pinpoint where the issue is.
