Hello everyone,

I'm looking for a coolant flow diagram or some information on the raw water path through the engine. I'm troubleshooting an overheat on my port motor and I want to make sure I don't miss any passageways. I'm thinking about pulling the head but the cams are intimidating me, about to pull the exhaust manifold to see what I can see.

Any solutions for dealing with engine scale without pulling the head would be appreciated too.

Thanks everyone!!

First thing I would do when embarking on this quest is get yourself a dealers service manual..........they can be had at reasonable prices on line as electronics manuals and most allow you to print out a paper copy..........well worth it if you like doing service work yourself.

Thanks Dave, do you have a particular website you used?

Pulled the exhaust manifold, 1 and 4 were pretty blocked up, working on cleaning the head ports now, has anyone back flushed from the thermostat to check flow?

You need to pull the thermostat and check it per the service manual, or better yet drop in a new one.

Are you boating in salt water? If so are you flushing with salt away after each outing? How many hours on the engines? Do you wet slip the boat?
