One man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
Not something I usually do, unless I see a good deal. And the marina has a few. Well this was laying on top and looked too new to be in there. It was not charged or taking a charge for a reason. They sell for $150 or so on line. Cat cj3000 jump starter. https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/product/cat-2000-peak-amp-jump-starter-with-usb-power-cj3000?cid=Shopping-Google-Product-1637695&gclid=CjwKCAjwyaWZBhBGEiwACslQo_76bxem1vUWvuYy41xrD2MyAtHIDmLd6lVM4Vv-BjEJBHn2STHi4BoCgX0QAvD_BwE Just ordered a replacement battery for $47 free shipping. Feeling good about that find. LOL

Marinas are great treasure troves both finding and contributing...I know cause I've contributed from time to time (face palm). Hope the lucky souls at the wash stands who were blessed to find at least 3 of those 4-way brass water spigots left by me or my crew will return the favor. Good Luck with the battery!

Surprising how many things that use sealed lead acid batteries get tossed instead of buying a new battery.
I’ve never even thought about what kind of magic is inside these jump boxes. I admittedly tossed one a couple of years ago. Won’t happen again now!

Owner probably bought it and let it sit without charging it and went to use it and thought POS and tossed it… great find on your part! SCORE!

Nothing wrong with dumpster diving especially for easy to repair high dollar items. My brother volunteered at the good will while he was in high school, I remember being floored by some of the things he brought home at no cost to him. Some of which he sold online.

I donated a few things to Saint Vincent DePaul as part of a recent home move. The guy I dealt with didn’t even try to hide what he was doing. I donated a complete first generation WII system and the guy told me straight up, that’s going home with him, he took it off the table and put it in the trunk of his nearby car. Technically I think he was stealing from his employer (is it really an employer if they don’t pay you/ you are a volunteer?) but that’s not my business or anything I want to dig into.

Thanks for posting it reminded me to top off the charges on these. I previously tossed and replaced lead acid battery powered jump packs every two or three years. Now I use lithium battery powered packs and so far I’m happy with them, none have died yet and all are about 3 years old. They also have a much smaller footprint than those with lead acid batteries.

The work light and the red flasher work now.

Love it - wish I could find more stuff like this. I just like fixing things. Most recently my robot vacuum stopped working. Took the whole thing apart, did some testing, ordered a $20 part and it runs great again. Some friends where over and they were dumbfounded... they would have just bought a new one.
