Ford Truck towing capacities for all 2025 F series trucks

I was told once that the difference in air resistance between 55 and 65 is double. For my truck in 10th with the 3:55 end gears, thats 1600 rpm which is the beginning of the peak of the torque curve, so 65 is the best max tow speed, while 55 is the best tow speed for mpg. If I’m not going far and I won’t be a menace on the road I tow at 55…the rpm is below peak torque but lower air resistance and engine speed.. but! Its nice having good tires, Goodyears, so when I want to cruise at 75 to get some where because time is of the essence then I can.

You and me both… all my stock tires became out of round.. at first they would just get flat spotted over night which is not surprising for bias ply non radial tires… but they would always smooth out after a few miles.. then they would not even out.. I don’t have the vid anymore that I took of the tires when suspended and then spun.

Yep… I should have known better, but I dismissed the spongy feeling to it being a new trailer with a slightly heavier load and something I’d get used to. The funny thing is that wasn’t even the worse thing that happened that day. The whole delivery process / experience was one misstep after another, but we’re trying not to dwell on it and are looking forward to launching it soon.

Actually, the Shoreland’r is an upgrade from the MFI trailer we had with our first boat! 😂 Normally, I only tow about 20 miles to Lake Mendota in Madison, so my needs are pretty simple. I’m a bit curious about the bunks though. I’d swapped out the original carpet to ultimate bunk boards for the other boat and I’m debating about doing the same with this one.

My needs are simple, so the trailer wasn’t a big factor for me. The MFI was adequate, but the winch was cheap and the stand was sketchy. It also had fixed bunks and no padding on the crossmembers. Other than the jack stand, the Shoreland’r just seems to be better built. The jack stand was on par with MFI.

I’m not sure that I can answer that until I try launching and recovering with carpeted bunks again. I’d switched over to the ultimate bunk shortly after we bought the boat, so that’s all I’ve really known for the last 15 yrs. I remember convincing my wife it was so much easier launching and recovering, but that could have just been me trying to justify the cost! 😂 I did like the maintenance free aspect. For now, we’re going to spend some time with the carpeted bunks. If I swap again, I’ll probable go with their supreme version.

Yes…. I asked about the galvanized trailer but was told it was not an option available to me…I get it, the reason our boats are at the price point they are is due to a macro approach to cost saving measures. Our boats are a great bang for the buck. But you are totally correct that I would have paid an optional upgrade for better tires, sealed LED lighting, stainless calipers and galvanized hubs etc etc. Shoot I paid like $1200 for the LED light upgrade on my current truck when I ordered it, well worth it as the factory LED headlights are a quantum leap forward. But the standardized build approach and economy of scale keep prices down. Probably the biggest bitch I have is the lack of information on how to service the trailer, especially the replaceable wear sleeves.

Luckily he was towing it with his rig welding truck so he was able to affect repairs road side. That’s probably a $120,000 boat…

I see the same thing on the high-end tow boat FB groups - $300k Nautique with a tri-axle trailer and the tires blow on the guys first trip...
