Hey everyone. New here with my new to me '16 fsh 190. Have a lot of questions but for starters.....how do you drain water from the battery storage area? Water gets in from the front and pools under the hatches on both sides. One side being the battery compartment. How are you supposed to get rid of this water when on the trailer? Also if I'm out on the water and this area fills how would I remove it from the boat? Thanks
Adam

those areas should drain into the bilge. How much water is in these compartments?

Seems like it was enough to cover the battery tray. Didnt fully investigate. I put the bow all the way down and all the water went to the front and i removed it fron there. How is it supposed to drain into the bilge?

When you pull your stern drains after trailering, does the water flow out? Does your engine compartment have water in it as well?

Had it parked and rain got in all the "dry" storage areas including engine compartment. Didnt trailer it when the water was in the boat. Had the drains open and water did come out just not all the water. We're talking about an inch of water in the batt compartment and roughly the same in the engine compartment. Used the bilge to take the water out from there. Put the bow down + incline of where its parked to get the water out of the battery compartment to the front storage area where it was easier to take out. A gallon of water or so at most. What I would really like to know is exactly how is the water meant to escape the batt storage compartment with the bow up? Dont see any drains.

Hmmmm…. Mine has a depression where the batteries ride, and there is a built in channel that goes down into the bilge….

Shortly after I got my new boat, I got tired of exactly what you're describing. Right in front of the batteries, under the port seat is where my wife thought would be a good place to keep her purse and other things while we were out. Found out quickly that was a bad idea.
Drilled a 3/8" hole in both the port and starboard sides, rearward, perpendicular to the centerline, toward the engine. Then installed a little dry deck matting on the floor. All good ever since!
