Lets take a ride around Manhattan. . . .

Are there any safe hotels around that area where we can put up for the night along with the boat? If we are doing a whole day of boating I would rather settle in a hotel for the night and drive home the next day.

Looking that up for you now. . . . as long as we can get you something close to the Marina, your boat will be safe there overnight. You can head back in the a.m. and grab her.

Well looks like we are in. Have not decided if we are launching from Oyster Bay or taking the drive up to join the group, if a last minute decision is ok?

Most likely coming from Oyster Bay. Any ideas where to meet up?

I have a few ideas on where to meet up. About to start another thread for confirmed attendees. We can discuss there. I will post a link here once I get it finished.

Looks like 50%rain on saturday. Should we switch to Sunday as it looks like the better day

For my crew Sunday wins out. . . . Just cant risk getting rained on being 90 mins from port with temps in the 60's when I have a <2yr old and 2 other kids under 9.

Reminiscing about our trip around NYC. . . . . .and hoping for warmer days back north soon.20180221_124430.jpg

Remember how chilly we all thought it was? Now those temps feel great.

We would love to host a canal event! The NYS Canal Corp. has waived all fees for recreational boaters again this year to celebrate the Canal's 200th anniversary.

Canal is scheduled to open on May 15th but that might be adjusted due to the incredible ice this winter which may have damaged some of the locks. We won't know for sure until it melts. This is the view from our backyard this week. Lock 9 is in the background.

To quote myself while watching the video: "holy shit, wow, wow, holy shit, wow, damn!".
It was one of my more eloquent moments

Are we ready to do this again? I’m thinking July 5th, any takers?
