Since I am not aware of any Jetboaters that live in FL and go to The Bahamas multiple times every year, I didn't mention it.
And yes, for frequent travelers that does make sense.
As far as the cost goes, the proposal shows that - for vessels 34' and under - the temporary cruising permit is $500, and the fishing permit is $100.
The fishing permit is good for two entries within 30 days.
Also one thing to keep in mind, the new cruising permit will be valid for 12 months, so you could go in July of this year, and use the same permit to go again in June of next year. If you like to fish, you would only need to get a new $100 fishing permit.
So I guess that was another change, because I thought originally they had changed the permit from as many times as you wanted to go in 90 days, and they had cut it down to as many times as she wanted to go in 30 days. Have I got that right?

That I believe is a misconception that caused a lot of discussion around the web.
91(2) states that the temporary cruising permit is valid for 12 months.
91(7) states that the fishing fee is $100 (less than 50').
91(8) states that the fee allows two entries within a 30 day period.
The meaning of all that could mean that:
- The temporary cruising permit is good for 12 months (no restrictions listed on # of entries), and the fishing permit is good for 2 entries within 30 days.
- The temporary cruising and fishing permits are good for 12 months with no more than 2 entries within a 30 day period.
- It could also mean that the temporary cruising permit is good for 12 months with no more than 2 entries within a 30 day period, and the fishing permit is good for only 1 entry.
The language is ambiguous and leaves a lot of room for speculation and confusion.
We're only 4 days from July 1st, and this is still being discussed in Parliament.
I doubt the finalized version will be implemented July 1st. Certainly Click to Clear will not be updated by July 1st, I think.
As many day trippers that we seen there last time we went I don’t know how they would enforce any of this. I have a feeling this will all change when they see the $$ that they’ll be losing from smaller boats like ours with people on a budget not crossing over. Either way I’m still going and gunna have a great time.

It will be interesting to see if they track a percentage in regards to how many fewer come across vs the increase percentage. If a 300% increase decreases the number of boats by 50% what does that do to the bottom line.
