Meant to get this out sometime back but just couldn’t find the time..

I had been meaning to get over to my friends house in Tulsa OK for the last couple of years and finally made that happen this year. After reading the Wisconsin out and about thread and chatting with @drewkaree and @WiskyDan about their area I decided to extend the Tulsa trip to include Fremont WI as well.

Getting to Tulsa was an interesting drive, first night stop was in NE and I have to say I was not ready for the humidity, OMG’dah it was muggy.

Came out of the hotel room at 0530 to load up and make the final leg into Tulsa and I was sweating almost immediately. Got loaded up, had some breakfast at the hotel and was on my way. Got to my friends house in Tulsa and then we drove over to Keystone lake where he keeps his 2023 255XD, he secured a slip for my boat for the few days I was going to be there. I must say that is a swanky marina and is very well kept up.

My friend has a beautiful home there in the Tulsa area and his wife keeps it looking like a model home, not a speck of dust anywhere and they were both excellent hosts for my stay. In the guest room where I stayed there was a basket with snacks, water, and literature of the local area, full on resort accommodations!

First day of boating was fishing on Keystone Lake, the lake has a lot of striped bass, large mouth bass, catfish etc.. We headed out early and what a beautiful morning it was. We set up and trolled for a while and we were rewarded with a nice striper and a couple other fish.

Next day was wake boat day and surfing. I was going to give it a try until my friend asked me how my knee was doing (I tore the meniscus in my left knee a while back) and I said its good, but I decided to pass this year as I still had the WI portion of the trip to do and didn’t want my knee to be hurting while I was exploring there. So, I got to play camera boat. I had a blast taking video’s of them while they were surfing. The cruise assist was invaluable for making speed adjustments while I was shooting video.

Then we headed over to a sandy beach to hang out and have lunch. I’d never done any beaching before nor sandbar stuff so this was new to me. The water was almost 90*! Holy smokes!

We had a great time hanging out on the beach and having lunch. After a while a lot more boats started showing up on the beach and there was a lot of Yamaha’s, one brand new 222X.

Next day and we were off to the Western Heritage Museum in Oklahoma City. What a great museum filled with lots of great displays and information. If you are ever in the Oklahoma City area this museum is a must see! The following pictures are just a small sample of what is there.. it would take a body all day to see what’s in there and at least another day or three to read and or watch all the video’s that are there.

Great photos but I have to admit that I was scrolling down pretty fast to get the the @drewkaree chapter....... :D
I ran up against “you have reached the maximum number of attachments” limit… I’ll try and get the WI portion of the trip done And its the @drewkaree & @WiskyDan chapter… you guys were awesome hosts!

I will say, that while it doesn’t look like too much I had such a good time playing camera boat! I was by myself on my boat, the cruise assist was super valuable in adjusting speed while I was doing that. My friends were very happy with the video’s I recorded, they had only had the view from the boat before.

I'm in OK all the time and I hate to admit I have not been to that museum. You inspired me to make it a priority next few times I'm up there.

Cool! The pics I posted barely scratch the surface of what is there…
