Unfortunately we received a 1/2 ice covering on all horizontal surfaces but no snow.

One of my daughters. The "Scaryaveragegirl" on Instagram. She brings this mask everywhere, then posts photos on instagram. My mom thinks it is creepy. I think it's creative. Especially some of her short instagram videos. Of course, she has one in there of her operating the SX230 at a high rate of speed! In any event, if you are feeling it, follow the Scaryaveragegirl! She's trying to get to 3000 followers, one by one!

This was today, after winning her division in the three day Capitol Hill Classic volleyball tournament in DC.

We got the ice first then 6 inches of snow on top. Didn't do a whole lot of good to shovel off the driveway but at least I got a little exercise.

LOL .......... I kinda feel like @scot71. When the weather's like it is, to post a GORGEOUS photo like @Britboater did ain't helping not whatsoever ! ......... LOL !

I took my family to south Lake Tahoe this weekend to enjoy heavenly ski resort with an elevation of just over 10k feet at the top it is the highest ski resort on the west coast. It is also the single largest with over 4,800 acres, 28 lifts including 2 gondolas and one that takes over 12 minutes to ride up. Their big problem this year, not enough snow, what they have is supplemented by what they make, even though it's less than 1/2 open I couldn't get to more than 1/4 of the runs available in a full day on the slopes. We had to come back a day after snowboarding to try out the tubing hill which according to yahoo is the best in the nation.

Anyway,I told you all that to show you this.

1. Although I came up here for the snow it's the water that got me out of the hotel room in the morning. Watching the sun rise over Lake Tahoe is breathtaking.

2. Given the treacherous ride up (especially the last 40 miles) And the boat rental rates I may never boat on the lake.

3. I took this pic. With my iPhone 5s as well as my gopro.

4. The CA and NV state line runs through south Lake Tahoe and even through the lake, gambling is allowed on the NV side and it is very clear which side that is.

With boat rental prices like that, there appears to be room for competition!

I wonder how much of that price is due to taxes, fees, etc. Also wonder how much monopoly power the rental company has - I assume the total number of rental boats is kept very low by the property owners.

GORGEOUS shot from "above lookin' down'" of Tahoe, @Ronnie !!!!!!! Thanks !

I only saw maybe 10 boats at their dock, so 2 of each four winns and one pontoon tat I saw being rented out by a family later that morning. All of the four winns are 2014s. Keep in mind that those are the winter rates I can only assume they go up in the summer. Also, this is just one boat rental company in the area there are others a few miles in each direction, like at the popular emerald bay but again I assume the rates are higher there.

Heavenly is beatiful but the costs are heavenly as well. Balancing the books I found this reciept for "lunch" for my wife, son and self. $56 for 3 bottled non alcoholic drinks, 2 slices of pizza, a small bag of chips and a rice crispy treat. This is after the $45 fee to ride he tram/gondola up fr the parking lot to the lodge.

That is insane! $11.45 for a slice of pizza!

Tahoe has now officially culled itself from my bucket list.

but for Pete's sake ............ EXPLAIN please the ungodly
"USFS Fee" of $1.25 ????????????? !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I didn't even notice the usfs fee but think it stands for u.s. Forrest service. Heavenly resort operates with the approval or permission of the usfs. While I still think some of the best things I'm life are free, going to visit south Lake Tahoe, especially heavenly ski resort, isn't one of them.

@Rigger !~ So many, many thanks for your untiring, and LONG< length of Service to our great country !
Well done, Kind Sir ! Best Wishes, Mikey Lulejian - Lake Oconee, GA
