Went to lunch at Splash and saw a small antique boat parade.

After, we went to the marina and found where they were docking for the Antique boat festival this weekend. A few of them. Picture heavy.

I love looking at old boats , and cars!

Couple interesting shots from the last 24hrs.

Sunset on the lake last night.

Cool tree on the shoreline.

Was testing some extremely fine powder in the lab today. Looked like I was discharging smoke, but that's actually usable product being carried away. Thought the flow of fines was a cool shot.

Here's the inlet. Again, that's not smoke, it's a finely powdered product. Particles are so small almost any amount of airflow will carry them away.

It's way more fine than that.

Processed Fly Ash for coal pond remediation technology.
Sounds like fun. I like learning about different things. My kids think I’m a nerd, but working in aerospace, defense and land power, it’s very interesting. Unfortunately I can’t add any photos of my job as it’s proprietary and the latest technology in gas turbine manufacturing.

That's cool stuff. I used to be in Aerospace (ISS Payload Development). I moved to manufacturing a few years ago chasing money. Got put in charge of a few large projects and did decently, now I'm being headed towards management.

I grew up as a floor rat in the casting industry, then moved to QE, left that company to be a quality manager at a tool and die shop, then left that company to be a QE for Siemens Energy’s new cast house division. Nothing that I went to school for but a great opportunity and career.

From the antique boat show at the marina today. A lot of mahogany.

September 10th and still picking blueberries. Not big ones, but they taste great.

And then back up on the hill at the house there were turkeys in the yard. They can taste great too.

I filled the boat’s tank for $4.99 per gallon at my local marina yesterday morning.

this is what I saw at the marina the boat broke down at about 30 miles away, at which is the last gas available for 40 miles to the north / old Sacramento.
