More info on "the boat broke down"!Long story short, my boat broke down 15 miles from the marina I launched at so I pulled it out of the water at a different marina closer to where the boat broke down.
I call this the lift of shame.

Looks like something straight out of Jaws@Julian , we were cruising at 30 mph when without warning the port engine shut down. It would turn over weakly at first but wouldn’t start. I broke out tools. Spare spark plugs and a new coil but didn’t bother to remove the engine cover once the engine stopped turning over. We limped back to the closest marina on one engine.
@TimW451, sorry but I didn’t take any video, my bother did but not much. Here are a few pics. Basically the lift is 30 to 40 feet above the water. The marina places the trailer on the lift with a fork lift and the lift has an adjustable height stand which acts like a temporary trailer Jack. If the operator allows it people can sit in the boat while it’s being lifted out of or dropped into the water. He did not allow us to do so because he thought the boat was heavy enough and it’s the longest allowed on the lift.
At the top a fork lift is used to pull the trailer directly out to the parking lot in front of the marina. The red ramp in the pics, my boat was tied up on the angled dock in the pics while I waited on the trailer.
the boat house marina at 13900 river road, walnut grove, CA.

Don’t know yet, I haven’t had time to take a close look and am supposed to schedule some time with a mobile boat mechanic this week. My brother has been using the guy for years so he comes highly recommended. What happened?
Yeah! I have never seen a lift that takes a trailer down to the water....pretty slick!A video of how that lift works would be great.
Oh wow...hope your wife is okay!Opened my phone to this at work. A car pulled out in front of my wife in her rental car. Both cars totaled.

Thanks! She is pretty banged up, cuts, bruises, scrapes and pains. She flew home last night, now I am trying to get ahold of Hertz to let them know the car was in an accident. I think I will have an easier time getting a hold of the Pope than the rental company. Is everyone OK? These things happen so fast.
Go Black Hull fleet!A couple of guests from NJ at the marina this week enjoying the weather and sunset.
