someone had a bad day today

Ya, was wonderin where the thread was going. And then I saw <3 and thought WTF is that response. Not being adept at old style emogies, I asked my wife if she understood what it meant. She laughed and sent me <3 on messenger and it became very clear. Been practicing since. A screenshot of <3 on messenger, I need to get out more.;)

I admit I had a similar thought. A large number of volunteers, or day laborers, may dig enough in a day or two, to get him out and floating again.

He may like it there now and prefer not to move.

For the record...that’s a much better way to say it in mixed company ;)

I love that this guy is living on the boat now.
Maybe he’s a snowbird and plans on staying all winter until it warms up back north.

I kinda feel like i could have dug around it and had my own little floating pool by now... extend the pool a little each day... what else is there to do? The beer has the run out sometime.

Maybe he's just planning ahead for global warming.

Well he was there today and he had some people there working on his new stripper pole installation on the back deck, and a floating band stand with beer taps, not sure what all that means.

I stopped and chatted with these guys again today. It has been since dec 9 2017 that they have been stuck on the sand bar, they did purchase a new anchor to secure the boat like Ben Okopnik suggested he would have done.
The tide came in and the boat would have been able to be moved out on that high tide except someone cut the rope and took their anchor while they were away from the boat. So rather than moving out to deeper water the boat went into the sand even more. I would say this is a sad affair .
They say people even try to steal their aluminum row boat up on the beach.
They told me that they watch people walk up and start dragging the boat down the beach and they have to yell at them to leave it.
So I am thinking if I can find some suitable scrap metal I may just build them an anchor to secure the boat and perhaps If I make it out of steel it will rust and no one will want to steal it, hopefully anyway.

They need a new anchor with some rope and then try to winch the boat toward the anchor after they fill the air bags to lift it at a high tide but I think they are pretty well expecting to loose the boat if they can't remove it themselves.
It's pretty sad actually. I believe they purchased the boat the day it broke down as they were headed home with it near Gulf port , so they anchored it when it broke down and actually swam to shore during the night only to come back the next day to find it washed ashore.

Maybe instead of making them a metal anchor bring them a couple of bags of cement, a trash can, and a foot long length of chain to use as the anchor eye... I doubt anyone would try stealing an anchor as nice as that.

I have to say that I honestly believe this is a hopeless case and they are keeping their chins up and hoping that something saves them but I know they realize it is a real long shot. I do give them credit for not giving up.
My concern is that even If I was able to build an anchor big enough to do the job , the sand bars go out too far to safely attach a rope to it without endangering people passing by on kite boards and jet skis I watched a ski pull a wake boarder in the troughs between the rows of sand bars and this could end in disaster if they had a taught rope running across the area.

Challenge 1. Boat was not running, if it floats, how will they move it.
Challenge 2. With suspected current drive line issues it will likely not stay afloat without at least pumping/bilge drainage going on.

If its worth saving, maybe a jet-ski/waverunner on them full time would help them pull on the boat when the conditions line up (water up, sand bar moving) but it seems they need 24 hour turns staying awake with anything valuable near by. If they already had the anchor stolen, can't imagine how long a jet-ski would last. Perhaps they also need a shotgun, or more manpower to get it moving on the next high tide, no matter what.

Tough situation.

I got stuck once, (lots of mud, tried and missed to make a wide turn on the "edge" of where I thought the bad started) I tried moving it myself by hand and I was moving at inches per minute. A boat with another 5 guys, in much better shape than I am, helped out, and the boat was out of there in 5 minutes. Much smaller boat though :)

Heck people are trying to steal the 10 ft aluminum boat they use to get to shore, in broad daylight! P W C s would be destroyed in that situation even in high tide you need to be on top of the water or you suck in tons of sand rocks and shells, I won't pull up to that beach without going to the cove on the opposite side and walking across the sand .
The real interesting part is imagine for 2 months people walking up to them and asking if they are STUCK???, REALLY!
I witnessed it in the short time I was talking to them maybe a dozen people did that I told one we were carrying the boat across the sand bar to get to the other side, his reply was WHY all you need to do is drive around it! We have a long standing special name for these people " TOURONS"!! But that's a whole different subject all together.

LOL @ Tourons.

Sadly some of them die and a few have never been found, usually they try to swim across Bunces pass and disappear or they jump out of touron boats in Pass a grill pass and are never seen again!
My favorite is when they pay the tour boats to bring them to shell island and I tell them that they could just park by Billies Restraint in Tierra Verde and walk out since the pass is gone and it is accessible by land with free parking on the street . I tell them to Google it when they get a minute if they don't believe me. The giveaway is when you see people walking the beach with red onion bags in their hands collecting sea shells.

Someone should call Elon Musk. He will get it out of there and safely land it at a shop of their choice.

In style!

The only problem I see is somehow not melting the entire boat in the process..... but I'm sure they could figure something out :D
