Does anyone have any advise on real estate in or around St. James? We are looking for a winter retreat to buy now for our retirement in 6-7 years. Seems to be several affordable manufactured homes on canals with lifts listed.

Can you insure a mobile in this area? Should you or just self insure for the structure. I have first hand experience with hurricanes so I know what they could do to the area but it might be a risk worth taking. What are some of the other pitfalls?
